28mm Cyberman Head Sculpt
« on: July 08, 2013, 03:31:02 PM »
Since I was annoyed by the fact that there are no good new series Cybermen miniatures on the market, except for the Micro Universe ones, which unfortunately are scarcely available, I thought maybe I could sculpt a Cyber head myself. You can see the pictures of the result below:

I have always liked the cybermen (which is probably noticeable by my username  ::) ) so I'm thinking of getting these heads cast up. The only thing I would need is a good, preferably cheap, miniature for a headswap with a body that closely resembles the new series cybermen, or is at least in a comparable style. Does anyone have any suggestions for that? Here are some examples of what I'm looking for:

Cheers!

Perhaps GW Plastic necrons or plastic dark eldar with the spikey bits removed?

yep, before the MU figures appeared, I started work on some clix Iron Man figures...

head works, bit broader than the new series style, but it fits as a kind of intermediate stage with the broader classic heads...

Thanks for the replies!
Yes, I think the heroclix iron man is the way to go, it looks surprisingly much like the new series bodies.

Clix Ironman was indeed my first thought, but for a slimmer look, perhaps a clix C3PO?

A 3P0 figure of some kind crossed my mind, but discarded when I couldn't bring myself to think of sullying with a conversion to such evil. lol

Saw a couple of figs with a Google image search, and have to admit with some arm adjustments, darn good. Still have to cover the belly 'wiring', though.

If all else fails Doctor Who Adventures are re-releasing the infamous Thighbermen again next week .(along with yet more iDaleks...)

You could always graft that nice head of yours onto one of them   ;)

Then he'd only be 80% crap.  lol

You'd have to reshape the feet though. They all seem to be wearing odd metal pumps.

Leaving, what? That fine plastic half-blister they come in?  lol lol lol

Edit: If you ARE able to crank out those heads, consider sharing. Just had this weird idea for them grafted on regular bodies. 'The transformation was interrupted, but, somehow, the result survived.'

Yep, I will share them when I've had them cast up. Mind you, that will probably be quite a long time from now.

You could pop those heads on Heroclix Ironman models.
