I have not tried Vallejo inks. These are a bit like the old GW inks, but less glossy and more like acrylic paint in how it can be blended with paints. You get a really big bottle also, with a dropper, so the value is really good.

It is always a pleasure to watch a skill so much superior to my own humble tries. Maybe there are one or two things form your tutorial that I can try out if I'm patient enough. Thanks for sharing.

I'm stunned. This has got to be the best light effect I've seen in ages. Awesome paintjob!

The fish is really stunning! Great technique and result.

By coincidence I just came across those same youtube videos. Really helpful as you can see which ones (the opaque ones) to avoid and which would be really nice to have. I was looking around for an alternative to Windsor and Newton, which really frustrate first because I didn't realize at first what a disadvantage not having a dropper was, secondly because you can't buy them individually, and thirdly because half my set has begun to clot and/or solidify for no apparent reason. I managed to work a few back into life, and when they work they are wonderful, but overall I'm left unhappy. I also have some PH Martins ones I've used for years, but I have a set that had both the opaque kind and the transparent ones, and only the latter are much use. Also I don't really trust what it says on the jar in terms of whether or not transparency. The real results you can see in the videos, which is great.
