Some Gripping Beast Saxons
« on: July 19, 2013, 09:23:27 PM »
This Sunday I am assisting James with the Nottingham Young Gamers event, aimed at kids from 9 to 13.

Gripping Beast have kindly donated a load of the plastic Vikings and Saxons and as part of the event the attendees will get a couple of figures each to paint on the day, so I was given 40 plastic warriors to paint up and spray with Army Painter Desert Yellow. James is doing 40 armoured warriors that will be sprayed up black.

However for one of the games we needed a few Saxons doing so James asked if I could quickly paint up a dozen. I spent a few hours last weekend on these:

I've done a few more shots along with details of the game that they'll be used in on the Scrivsland blog

Lovely work. I think the GB plastics scrub up really nicely, and yours are an excellent example of this. Thanks for sharing
Measure with a micrometer, mark with chalk, cut with an axe, hammer to fit, paint to match!

Nice work on those!  Might have to pick up a box to check them out.

They're well worth it. At about forty pence per figure, they would struggle to NOT be, but seriously, they are worth every penny.
