Plastic Soldier Company Stuarts
« on: July 28, 2013, 05:25:35 PM »
Evening all

On a whim the other day I bought a box of PSC 15mm Stuarts from my friendly local model shop. Didn't take very long at all to get them built, and I got to thinking of ways to use them as both normal Stuarts and the turret-less recce version.
The other half then suggested that I use the gunners from the M5 Halftrack set I'd bought a couple of months back. Lo and behold, it works pretty well.
Can easily swap out the turret for the MG, though I might need to a bit more weight to keep the MG option in place.

Used the spare hulls and clingfilm as a sort of mould so my greenstuff didn't stick.

Further updates will follow once I've got them painted.

I'm looking forward to seeing the finished article at the club mate.  Quite a nice idea,  the PSC  models are nicely detailed and plastic is so much easier to work with than metal or resin.

Thats quite a cool idea M5 or a T8. Is it not possible to mount small magnets in the hull to hold the MG and gunner in?

So yeah, got my Stuarts finished.

Painted up, pre-decal:

With decals:

Converted to jalopies:

And showing both options:

I might see about using magnets to hold them in place - will let you know how I get on.

Thanks chaps - unfortunately this is about the limit of my greenstuff skills.
The good thing about sandbags is that it doesn't matter if you leave fingerprints all over them.
