Weird Wars Rome - suitable miniatures
« on: July 28, 2013, 05:58:55 PM »
On Tuesday Pinnacle are launching a new kickstarter for a new Savage Worlds rpg setting called Weird Wars Rome.

This has really caught my imagination and I have begun to look for minis that are suitable in 28 mm. There are many companies that do roman soldiers, so that's no problem, but I want some diplomats, civilians etc.

Does anyone now any good companies that do these in 28 mm?

I asked this same question a few days ago. Check out foundry's Romen civilian range, and I think Warlord games makes a few also. I would also.be interested in more Roman civilians myself.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Where are these WF civilians everyone speaks of?  I can't find them on their page - are they hidden under a heading I'm not thinking of?

Thank you all for swift and good service.

I think Foundry's "Roman Nobles and Ladies" and Crusader Miniatures' "Spectators" and "Arena Officials" are what I'm looking for.

Does anyone know how the size of the minis from these two companies compare?

They work together very well:

Just based 4 of the WG slave girls this afternoon. However, photo posting is beyond me.  :(

Must admit that I recognised your superb painting style immediately. I remembered that I saw it some 5 years ago as I found your Witch Town wild west minis.

So I found your new blog and man you have found some cool minis!

Also just got the first novel in the SPQR series ordered from the library. I love historical mysteries. Have you ever tried playing Cthulhu Invictus?

Thank you, nice to hear someone is still visiting my old dusty sites :)

Never heard of Cthulhu Invictus but just googled a bit and I think that's great and inspiring stuff, some setting there I really like! I'm thinking about and planning some gaming using Roma Victa? Rules (check that thread - http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=54835.0) and I've considered to try it using some Cthulhu elements. A dark cult  in the catacombs of Rome or Alexandria, what's not to like! I think now I have to get that Cthulhu Invictus book. Maybe not for role palying but there is surely a lot of nice ideas and stories.

Just got the cthulhu invictus book yesterday and it is a really good setting. I have looked at it for a couple of years hos and finally got it. I think I might ikke it better than weird wars rome, but can't wait to see the kickstarter
