Using Dux Bellorum for the Burgundian War of Succession
« on: July 30, 2013, 04:15:36 PM »
As some of you may know, Luddite made some changes to Dux Bellorum for the Wars of the Roses. Inspired by his work, i had a go at adapting these rules to use for the Burgundian War of Succession. It's a conflict i'm rather interested in, and i did a quick draft over on my blog:
http://scyldandseax.blogspot.fr/2013/07/dux-bellorum-for-burgundian-war-of.html

I would copy and paste it here, but last time i did that it looked terrible  :o

The rules are only first draft, and i'm thinking of adding more period flavour to them by adding troops unique to the conflict. It will also change as i learn more about the conflict.

I also posted a battle using the adaption on my blog (today actually) so you can see how they worked. I have in mind to do a sort of Imagi-nation, centered around a small, invented Dutch town being attacked by a French Ordonnance company and support.

Battle posted up, read it here to see how it went: http://scyldandseax.blogspot.fr/2013/08/dux-bel-french-vs-lowlands-battle-1.html

The battle pits the French against Lowland militia during Louis XI's invasion of Picardy in the late XVth century.

some interesting ideas there :)

Dux Bel is a really great system, it's a pity there isn't a dedicated group/team to promote it.
Commission Painting undertaken, PM or email me.
