Is anyone else playing Pacific Rim Heroclix?
« on: August 06, 2013, 07:12:14 PM »
I bought the mini-game and it comes with extra tokens that seem to have no connection to the game. I emailed Wizkids and got an unhelpful reply. Now I'm feeling stupid but still want to play the game. Is anyone else on The LAF playing?

You can't play the game because it came with extra tokens?

I'm just wondering what they are and how to use them. There are bystander tokens of tanks, planes, and ships and what I believe to be rubble markers. Do I use them all at once or what?

There are no scenarios included with the set or on the Wizkids site. It just seems like a badly produced introduction to a game.

I am thinking about getting some of the Robots for use in other games,  but might be interested in trying out the Clix system.  is it basically just Heroclix ported over to a different franchise?

It seems to be the same basic system. But since I don't play any other Clix games I'm not sure. I bought some Pac Rim minis and some Iron Maiden minis but I don't know if I want to have Eddie fighting Gipsy Danger.

Any chance you could post up some close up pictures of the robot models themselves?

I dont play 'Clix, but I rather like the idea of getting my hands on the models for use in other games.

Slattern is supposed to be three times as big as Gipsy Danger.

With a Battletech Battlemaster.

And this one's for you Scurv:

Killers Eddie and Iron Maiden Eddie double up on Gipsy.

Hey Roe,

Any chance you have any Infinity to match em up with? When i first saw the Clix coming out i was thinking how they could make decent TAG's for the game.

Hobby link japan will have some sort of pac rim kit be it a grage kit or company release pretty soon I suspect
If they'd put out a Gashaphon PacRim set then those might be about compatible in size with the Clix figs. Or at least they'd be sensible size for gaming on a reasonable size table. Any actual model kits could well be more in line with the current 7" action figures or even the deluxe 18" version of Gypsy Dancer and those are a tad oversized for that I would say.

Here you go:

I would love to see some proper model kits come out. Hopefully a Japanese company will pick up the license.

Dopey moi; for a second, I thought you meant Bioshock: Infinite. I was all 'wait a minute; those are for VSF/Pulp!'  lol

And, of course, I was all 'What the heck are TAG's?', until Google-was-my-friend...

Anyone also think this would pass, with a bit of work, for new Cylon?

what do you mean you dont know if you want eddie fighting giant robots! OF COURSE YOU DO!  lol that is pure metal straight off an album cover good man! If we still lived in the days of iron maiden being carved into every school desk with a compass you know they would be putting it on their next album cover and have a bitching song to go with it too.

I need to get a van and then get Eddie and Gipsy Danger having a punch up airbrushed onto the side.

I used to play Heroclix, so unless the rules have changed I can at least tell you how to use those tokens.

The bystander tokens should have a point value associated with them, and can just be added to your team normally.  They play just like any other piece, except only take one "click" of damage before they're defeated.

The Rubble markers count as hindering terrain (they should have a green border to indicate this), and are placed on the table whenever blocking terrain is destroyed.

Hope that helps!
