@beefcake
(Well I'll probably end up getting the new Space Hulk game that is due to come out very soon. Just one purchase, not needing an endless supply of extras. Space hulk is one of my favourite GW games, never played it much though.)

beefcake, I missed the last version of Space Hulk that came out, you said that there is a new one coming out soon, do  you have any more information in regards to this. Thanks regards Marauderman.

As mason said, I was referring to the computer game, sorry I didn't make that clear.

I may also have to get blood bowl too. I quite liked the first version so more teams must be great. They have a khorne team now right.

The ridiculous price increases just seal the deal. Which is too bad because aside from the horrid new space marines inside space marines their models are some of the best they've ever been and the plastics are leaps and bounds above anything else on the market, even Dreamforge. With the CAD tech they use some of the plastics have more detail than resin figures and the fit is absolutely 100% perfect on em.
But as has been said, GW prices for Mom now.

True.  I've said elsewhere, when Seb Perbett revamped most of the skaven range from the old monkey-dog look, they became the best ratmen miniatures ever.  IMO.  It's one of the very few things that makes me keep a toehold on GW.  And they're in the starter set, which when divvied up on ebay makes bulking out the core troops relatively cheap. Not very valid if you're not interested in Skaven - or High Elves - though.
(I'm also wondering what the interval is between the new lizardmen release, and when the kiddies [big and small] get bored of their carnosaurs and stick 'em on the same site.)

In general: I agree.  There's almost no contest between the quality of GW plastics and that of their nearest rivals.

I hear there is a Warhammer Quest game for the iPad...does anyone own that?  I don't own an iPad (and never will) but if it gets ported over to something, I'd be interested.

EDIT: Yep, it's an Apple App game...

^I don't do tablets nor play games on my phone (I wonder if they release an Android version if you could simply play it on your computer...).

There's an android game called Mighty Dungeons I used to play... apparently it's heavily based on Warhammer Quest. :)

I though you were on about the 3DO version (which frankly was absolutely amazing) lol
I think I was one of only 7 people in the UK with a 3DO ;D

They've outdone themselves in only a few years too.  Compare the rather static terminators for the 5th Edition 40k box, and the dynamic, detailed sculpts in the 6th Ed box.

I have their Wight King plastic model from last year, and it's just fantastic.

When I rag on GW, it's born of frustration at their daft policies and dafter pricing - I think a lot of us LOVE their toys.  I have a ton of their LotR stuff, one of my favourite games, and a lot of 40k and WFB figures despite never playing those games.  Tau, IG and Tyranids are great SF models, and the same is true of the Fantasy Skaven and Lizardmen that I own.  That makes me all the sadder at the pricing of the Hobbit figures...

Although I do love the Dreamforge stuff too...

Scuttles off to investigate...

Ditto. :) And the nurgle champion. Some of their new plastic characters are another thing keeping me hanging on.

Ditto - though my LotR purchases extend to one box of Rohirrim. Avoided the PJ love-in for a long time, and then got distracted until the big LotR price hike. That's what did for my (official) LotR gaming before it began.

doh! I am off to buy bloodbowl on steam now. Got it for x box but it is only the basic stuff with that. Nice graphics though.

Scurv, the Xbox version is really quite horrible in comparison to the finalized PC version...heck I only have the second to last version (can't be bothered to be a couple extra bucks for even more teams).  But yeah, if you get whatever the latest version is on Steam, it's well worth it.  Especially if you pick it up during one of their sales.  I have...Legendary Edition?  There is a Chaos Edition, but I'm not sure which is later/better?

The latest ones have Khemri, Chaos Demon teams, wood elves, high elves, goblins, orcs, beastmen, dwarves, humans, vikings, gnomes, undead, dark elves, lizardmen...and more that I can't remember.

Blood bowl computer game sounds interesting, but I will not buy it. The Intellectual Property Ogres have already had more than enough of my money over the years.
