So far, so good. Put the duck boards in, sanded the bottom lugs off to make it sit flat and glued to base. (2x Flames Of War bases). Will update as work progress's.  ;)

I always put the Flames Of War bases upside down because used the normal way I can't pick them up.  :)

Great job. I think that you have convinced me not to add a base but if you kick a$$ on your water effects I could change my mind  lol

I posted a couple pics of the same boat I converted over in June on your other thread:

I ended up going without a base and filling the hull with a few marbles to weigh it down and some resin to hold it all together but I am interested in seeing how your base turns out. Great work so far!  8)

It's not the same boat. I think the Thomas folks made variations in the designs. If I had spotted yours on EBay I wouldn't have bid on it, thinking it looking too toy like, which speaks volumes on your ability to convert it into something nothing of the sort. Well done with your bench work to achieve what you have. Truly remarkable. Me thinks we may start a rush on Thomas boats.  lol

To tell the truth, the base is going to be the hardest hurdle. The boat has a very pronounced angle on the hull, (Almost a half circle) so much so that if I tried to sand it flat I would have to go through the bottom of it  :? I have some ideas on how to get around some of the issues but I'll save them for the review when it's finished  ;)
