In a fit of enthusiasm, the good Dr The Viking agreed to dig out his WW1 Frenchies, whilst I took on the evil Hun  :o

Dipping into my cupboard of doom, in addition to those I painted in my initial burst of enthusiasm, I found a small pile of based and undercoated, as well MIB, Great War Mini Germans:

So what to do first?

Excellent - the HMG is my suggestion. That'll give you something to make some noise with.

Good suggestion. I'll need to assemble to other HMG and Field Gun to make it a proper September task. In the meantime I've made a start on some basic infantry types to crack by the end of the month:

Dont forget about Scarab Miniatures, they're making some nice WW1 Minis too (French Cuirassiers anyone?)

Thanks Dr F.

Unfortunately, Scarab are not to my taste - I think the nicely sculpted French Cuirassiers on their website are actually by Great War Minis  ;D

And while Steph-o is sitting on his hands I managed to paint these in 3 hours:

That means I get to buy another unit, because I've painted all the troops I have.  lol

Three HOTFUZZ machine guns are on their way to me as we speak.

They're shite. It's painted with a ginormeous brush, washed, drysbrushed. Any corners I could cut are cut.

But I reasoned that that the only way I'll ever get enough painted to make an army for whatever game Janner has in store.  lol lol

And thanks.

Just to elabrorate on my stupidity I actually have WW1 figures in both 6, 15 and 28 mm. Brilliant right? But Janner prefers 28, so 28 (or 30 with the renegade stuff) it is.

I hope we'll 'play through the war' over the next few years seeing it's the 100th and all.

For three hours work they do look pretty splendid :-*

Looking forward to seeing this project develop.
