Brummie's Fantasy Thread 08/08 Goblins!!
« on: August 19, 2013, 11:54:14 PM »
Shinyitus Strikes in Birmingham! I Have been lured into the realms of fantasy by the fantastic range from Otherworld miniatures as well as the planned rules being release by them and Crooked Dice. I was determined not to start another not in 28mm anyway but hey ho bloody lovely figures and my favourite ruleset means I relented!

First character finished.

Tharzon Hammerfist, Captain of the 'Fists of Iron' Adventuring Company

Really Really enjoyed paint this guy lovely sculpt and easy to paint

I plan on getting some classic creatures but for now the dungeon/adventuring will be up against a load of mantic zombies.

The second dwarf has been finished this evening and need to take some pics.

They have a great range. Tharzon looks great!  Is he a dwarf?

Welcome to the dark abyss of fantasy gaming Brummie - check the dwarven sculpts in Hasslefree too, especially the ones by Tre Manor - great character in those.

Also looking forward to the Otherworld rules. Do we have a potential release date yet?
Have fun storming the castle! ...and that really isn't me you know...

Gothic Project: leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=55943.0 - although on pause atm as too much RL stuff getting in the way.

Thanks yes he is a Dwarf  ;)

@Muncehead not sure yet besides the initial press release I've not heard anything yet. I think its being playtested at the moment then there will be a kickstarter later in the year.

Welcome to the dark abyss of fantasy gaming Brummie

My erstwhile friend, Mike, told my this new game Dungeons & Dragons with its three almost unintelligible rules booklets was cool & only required a couple dozen minis. Nearly forty years later I've still got minis yet to paint..."Give up all hope. Ye who enter here."

That said, you've started The Journey with some BEAUTIFULLY painted pieces. Have FUN with the Beasty!

Lol DeafNala that is certainly correct i'm trying to be good and have vowed never to play a game with an unpainted figure :D I only came back to the hobby 2-3 years ago back in the 90's nearly all my stuff was unpainted just glued together and whapped onto the table :D

Snorri Stoneheart

Snorri  is a mercenary fighter of the Fist of Iron Adventuring Company. Since listening to his Uncle Tharzon's tales of ancient treasures, daring battles against Orcs, Goblins and other strange creatures when visiting the family hold. All Snorri has ever wanted to do was become an adventurer. Snorri has spent many years training with his two handed axe and wandering around the family hold hunting goblins he is now old enough and has decided to leave the family home and seek his own path. His proud father Grommel Stoneheart understanding his son's wishes and thirst for adventure has gifted him with his old suit of heavy plate armour to protect him whilst his mother has gifted him with an an ornate warhammer that belonged to her grandfather nick named 'Crusher' Snorri now joins his Uncle and the Fists of Iron on there latest adventures.

Slightly different base for Snorri quite like it might do one or two more like it later.
