Hello,

I and a friend created the game mechanics - we call this a Narrative Tabletop.

We have our ideas and the solutions. The players do not get past problems/enemys
through dicing but ideas - like role playing.

So it helps a lot if you never went out at a weekend and instead watch horror movies. lol

The problem with this kind of game is the re-playability. If the solution/idea  is burned/played - there is no chance  to play it with the same people again.
The same is true for bystanders watching the game played.

A few other facts: it is best played with two player and one gamemaster
                          and
playing time is 45-55 minutes for the game above

Greetings
Burkhard

Brilliant idea, Burkhard. Very much like what Howard Whitehouse does with his games.

While these sorts of games take a lot of effort to put together, I think they can produce some of the most memorable games players can have. We should all try to run a narrative game - one without dice or fixed-and-fast rules, and let players interact with the miniature world on their own.

Thanks for sharing the philosophy of this game with us!

Grimm,

Do you know who is the maker/producer of that restraining bed and gurney with the straps?  I didn't see them at Pardulon's web site.

Thanks,

That would still be me. The bed is part of an examination table I intend to add to Pardulon some sunny day, the frame and wheels are scratchbuilt. Here is a picture of the thing as it will be released
:

I have a few of those lying around, though. Anyone wants one, please drop me a pm.

Cheers,

Jens

Very nice job Grimm. Thanks for sharing. I like seeing a game that emphasizes problem solving over a straight out fight.

Excellent game, very impressive!

One solution to the re-playability problem might be to build multiple problem solutions into the game's framework, or multiple paths/outcomes into the game itself. A further solution might be to make a combat-oriented solution a viable option (although this lessens the horror, and might be best reserved for similar games in different genres, as the unbeatability of monsters and the resultant fear that causes is key to the atmosphere of the Horror-themed game).

Thanks  :), of course we had and aloud diffrent solutions but it is still somehow limited, but as a one shot participation
game in a darks isolated corner it is extremly cool  ;)
