The Terror of Mkubwa Shetani - a Pulp Alley AAR
« on: August 28, 2013, 12:37:24 AM »
Played one of the most enjoyable and fun games in ages tonight at the club! In this episode of our campaign, Dirk Drake's ally, The Black Smoke, takes up the challenge of defeating the Executive's nefarious plans in deepest, darkest Africa. Most of the terrain and figures are George's. My contribution was the scenario and The Black Smoke...and a certain Mkubwa Shetani! :)

You can read the full AAR over on my blog - http://colourofwar.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/the-terror-of-mkubwa-shetani-pulp-alley.html. Hope you enjoy it!

Excellent AAR!
It was a very fun read.
I can only imagine how much fun it was to play that one.
Thanks for posting it.
I look forward to the next chapter!

The best bit was that George didn't know about the gorilla! I was hamming up the chanting of Mkubwa Shetani and he even got involved, so when I plonked it on the table, his face was a picture! :D

Great story and lay out. I can identify your laughing so much during a game. I recall many a game where events happened via unforeseen die rolls that made characters act and react quite unexpectedly. That combined with smart ass comments from the players with weird SOH's can start a laughing session that not only stops the game for a while, but also reflects the pulp aspect we seek as aficionados.

Thanks! The natives and gorilla really worked well and I was quite happy with the scenario rules given that it hadn't been playtested! :)

So I wonder how many places around the world saw somebody saying, "Mkubwa! Mkubwa! Mkubwa Shetani!" after your post. I know I found myself mumbling it all night here in Columbus, Ohio.... lol

LOL! :D That has made my day!

It takes some effort to write up AARs, so to know people are really getting into it and enjoying reading them totally makes it worthwhile doing!

So thanks to everyone for the feedback! The next chapter is being drafted but it will probably be a couple if weeks before it is played.

One of the best Pulp Alley looking games I have seen yet! The special rules really make it for me, and I may have to pilfer some of your ideas.
