Planets for our spaceship combat campaign
« on: August 29, 2013, 05:31:30 PM »
Hi,

Our spaceship combat project (Full thrust rules but our won setting) is starting to take of and I took some pictures of my planets that I felt like sharing with you guys.

As you can see we give all of our planets a day/night side and the dirty one is our major hub world so it has two space elevators also. Durign the weekend I will try to get some pictures of our gas giant, space stations and more ships.

If anyone have a good suggestion on how to make satellites please share them.

Regards,

Anders the elder

The night sides are awesome.  I've never seen that done before.

Beautiful.  :-* the dark side effect.  :-* the beanstalks.

For satellites/ space mines/etc I suggest bracelet/craft beads which come in all sorts of interesting shapes. Just paint and mount on flight bases. Maybe use a different type of base to denote stationary satellites.
Again with craft beads for a minefield, use a ring template made from clear acetate and glue the beads to it leaving space in-between to place the ships. Just place on the mat around what you wish protected.  Any ship that moves and touches the template is attacked. Maybe mark a safe corridor? I have that on my list of things to make.

Thanks for sharing

Great idea of making a 'dark' side.

Well done.

Interesting idea  8)

I thought that space lifts had to be on the equator due to the gravitational effect of rotation?

cheers

You could be right, but both could still be on the equator; could be a really weird axis tilt. Interesting weather, I assume.  ;)

What, you don't have a massive Zentraedi fleet ready for battle already? I'm shocked...
