Arrrg, work always gets in the way >:(.... no posting this week! Ahhh Saturday! and here is one of the last of my Norman Knights from the last "batch" of 8 (2 four point Hearth-guard units) I tried a new piece of battle damage adding an arrow imbedded in his shield. It was quite fiddly building it and sticking those really tiny feathers to the shaft.

No. 194 Norman Knight Sir Victor

Looking like a really strong finish to the Order.

Thanks Captain but personally I am not as happy with it as some of the others like No. 163 below, but I do like the color and the arrow. I deliberately went with a very plain shield for the arrow so the emphasis was on the arrow not the shield design. I find that when I start freehand shields or flags they look like "doo doo" for a long time during painting and don't come together until the very end. I have painted about 30 or so more figures for the Norman Warband and that I have not posted here, many of them have better work. I've been "piggy posting" enough... lol, I hope to get one more in before the end as I have just finished the "Flemish Mercenaries". They are off to battle this morning and I'll post one in 24 hours if there is still a spot! :o

Excellent! How did you do that and what are the feathers made from? I fancy copying that  :D

Great figures from everyone - will be shame when the 200 is up; it all seems to be speeding up now we're into the last few!
Its all been very enjoyable to see and take part.
Simon.

No. 196 Berzerker for SAGA

I think this one came out much better.  I needed more shades for the orange before...

Eek! Just under the wire!

His love for you is ticking clock,

#197 - Berserker

Made for my SAGA warband, the figure is a mix of parts from Wargames Factory: body is from their ancient Germans, weapons and head from their Vikings. I have three more in the batch, but I decided to push forward with this one alone, to ensure he made it into the club.

I think maybe I should have gone one more layer lighter for a more "Northern" skin tone, but if he's running around in the summer sun with his shirt off, he should have a little more color than usual anyway, right?  :)

It is interesting that the figures displayed indicate the present areas of interest in the Medieval period, the middle of the Middle ages has been fairly sparsely represented whereas the start- Vikings and Normans and the end- WOTR and early renaissance have both been very strongly represented.

lol Nice one Bugs, love the colours. :-* :-*
Excellent brush work on the drummer 8)
And that berserker reminds my of a bloke in the pub Friday night who got that angry with someone, he ripped his
own shirt off and shouted "come on then" whilst beating his chest. I was the only one in the pub who found it hilarious
until the nutter glared at me, then my pint suddenly became very interesting. lol Great job.
