Blood Bowl pitch - desert surface
« on: 02 September 2013, 09:42:17 AM »
Hi all,

Straight off the back of my last pitch (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=55991.0) I've completed a pitch for a prize for the team over at the Southern Shrike Bowl: http://southernshrikebowl.weebly.com/ (check out the awesome minotaur mini in the Player gifts section!).

So, here's the result:

The surface is totally playable, ruined columns embedded deep enough and sanded as to not interrupt play.

More pictures on the blog... in good time.

Enjoy!

I don't play the game personally but its a beautiful board.

Thanks for sharing - the look of these is something that would be both a joy and effortless.

Wonderful work. Any chance of a few close-up images of the surface?

Neat to see that you did go with the buried columns in the end.  :D

Here is some more detail:

I've made a small gallery of the boards made so far here: http://s247.photobucket.com/user/Intergalactic_photos/library/Gallery/BloodBowl%20Pitches?sort=3&page=1

Cracking pitch fella. How come there are no dugouts on this one?

That looks fantastic.  :-*

would you suggest i continue with my idea to build my own pitch or would you advise, with experience, that it is not worth the headache?  o_o  lol

what did you do to ensure the grid lines up with the templates?  my current idea is to transcribe the pitch to a large (LARGE) piece of tracing paper and then impress onto insulation foam.

Thanks gents!

@smokezombie: It just wasn't an option with the time I had available :) wouldn't hurt though!

@zbyshko: Definitely worth it! Once you have the dimensions right it isn't so hard. I make sure the lines are correct by drawing dots down the line before drawing in the complete line... If that makes sense? You can also try going over the foam lightly first. Once the lines are correct I just draw over it several time so it leaves an impression. Probably the most boring part of the process :) Just the think of the wonderful games you'll get to have!! :)

Thank you Christian

When I too find some more of that precious extra time, I will look into this.

in the manner that you embedded the column, i will be embedding arms, skulls and other bits.  my team is Shadowforge Nuns so I shall be trying for an ecclesiastic look in some way - maybe stray rulers or crosses
