Don't forget it doesn't stop there. Bear in mind the cost of a team of horses, feed, vets bills, setting up a stagecoach station. Then there's hiring drivers, shotgun riders and who's goes to insure them against Commanche attacks or hold ups.  lol

Hells bells! I thought the link would lead to some kind of Faberge egg miniature content in gold and diamonds.

I could see like an amusement park or "Old West" tourist attraction buying one and then giving rides or something.

Around  here I know several folks who have full sized stages. Some do use them for dude ranches and such, but among the horse folks they're just one more toy in an expensive hobby. The price isn't too bad either as they can easily have $10K in wood alone in them.

Come on guys!  Where's the scratchbuild spirit?  Only $10,000 in wood for the stagecoach.  How much for the stagecoach station?

Or one made by GW?

Was it really necessary to resurrect a thread from 2008 just for that?  ::)

As long as its resurrected, the Concord Coach (the familiar stagecoach of the movies) was the Rolls Royce of its day so that price (and the link is 55K now) isn't that far off the mark.  Thus my desire to find models (in my 15 mm) of mud wagons which were much more common, lighter (thus two horses realistic), and a lot cheaper to buy.  Well, maybe it was more like a custom Maserati.

My grandma born in 1896 drove a six-up in her youth - that's six horses in three teams two abreast for the greenhorns.  Go, granny, go.  Well, she up and went back '75.

I used to have a mate that did chariot racing so it ain't really that weird.

Someone linked before, but there are a few shops/places which concentrate on refurbishing and selling wagons of that sort.  There must be some business in it.

Nay,  think of the figure scale it would take for your miniatures to go with the stagecoach!
