Battle Report Anemia
« on: 15 September 2013, 06:53:49 AM »
Here I go again.  Is it only me or has there been a dearth of colonial game battle reports over these past months?  Seems so.  Is this a summer time event, people on holiday and such?

You must understand that I've been reduced to gaming vicariously for virtually all of this year (a very frustrating state of affairs!).  So, come on folks, how about some new colonial era battle reports.

Or am I just unlucky and keep missing them?

Are you familiar with the exploits of General Pettigree?

Chuck,

Yes, I am familiar but it seems to have become more of a pulpish blog of late than a colonial one.  The man who runs that blog, Bill Protz is a pretty good chap.  Bought one of his rules sets and corresponded a bit with him, years ago.

Just seems like last year there were lots and lots of great battle reports and this year few and far between.

I game with Bill quite a bit and have helped him run games for the blog.  In fact we just played a large Sudan game this past Saturday.  Im not sure if he is planning on posting pics on the blog or not.  I have a few pics but I dont have them set up to post at the moment.

Looks like on of Bill's games - really large units!  He inspired, to a degree, how I built my French and Indian War collection with his Drums Along the Mohawk rules.  But so did Habitants and Highlanders, to a degree.  And I really should be painting rather than typing here so......

That looks great! I like the large units too as well as the huge sabot round bases.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the kind words.

I made the sabot bases my self.  I originally planned on having the entire army on them but they didnt work out well when getting into hand to hand.  I couldnt get as many figures into base contact with the enemy and I had to take them out of the bases.  Now I just use them for my rifle armed units.
