Anyone in Ontario playing Pulp Alley?
« on: June 25, 2013, 03:16:03 AM »
I'm interested in maybe picking up these rules and playing. Not a certainty yet, so I'm just putting out feelers. No point in looking if no one's got anything going nearby.

I don't have the space, desire, or energy to get into another gaming project full-bore right now (no, really), but PA seems pretty accessible given the small number of figures required and it sure looks like fun. If anyone in southern Ontario is playing Pulp Alley already and is looking for additional players, I'm sure I could manage assembling and painting a small league or two and travelling to a game someone else is already running.

Somewhere in the Toronto area would be best, but I'd probably be willing to trundle out anywhere between London and Kingston (2hr drive for me) once in a while.

One caveat though is that I tend to work weekends!

Wish I'd known, would have made time to stay in Toronto when we visited my son and family in Cambridge Oct last year. As it was, we only spent a day in Toronto visiting daughter in law's family. Lots more to see and I did NOT get to the gaming shop in T (unfortunately). I don't play PA but a coffee/beer/wine visit/talk would have been good. During the week is good for us tourists from Oz.
Cheers,

Just a little thread necromancy here to see if anyone has a group of this going yet in the Toronto or Southern Ontario area. I keep coming across minis that I'd like to get, but can't really justify it without hope of a game anytime soon.

play solo if you can't find anyone near by.  is there a local gaming store?  if so offer to run a game and build up some interest.

Well, I promised myself that I wouldn't let my painting backlog get out of hand, so as long as I have no active games going I'll stick to finishing existing projects (which I will also be able to play solo). But if there was an active group, I'd be interested in joining.

Your 'location' is deceiving. I'd sat you are in the hub not the frozen wastes...

I'd be interested in playing but real life too often gets in the way. If I make it out 1x/month I count myself lucky.
Yearly painting challenges only show me how useless I am at painting...

When I stayed with my son in Cambridge (Ont) last year, I grabbed the opportunity to see some of the nearby cities and their game/hobby shops. Given that there were a number of shops, there must be a sizable gaming community there, both historical and other gaming genres.

I actually used to live out that way and the Cambridge/Kitchener/Waterloo tri-city area used to have an amazing and huge gaming community. There was a huge wave of shop and club closures in the early-mid 2000's around there. Really gutted the community.
