Seeking Weathertop...
« on: September 23, 2013, 02:46:55 PM »
Noticing a post of someone trying to flog a Forgeworld version of the movie-esque ruins of Amun Sul, I decided to give a browse for contender kits. I saw a very old post elsewhere suggesting checking out Thomarillion , but the closest thing I can find, even in bits you can bash together, is the animated GIF.

Any suggestions as to whether there's an OOP model, or I'm just missing the obvious?

Likewise, other suggestions welcome, aside from 'get a hotwire'. Got several.  ;)

All I can think of is this one by Ziterdes (which might designed by Thomarillion):

AFAIK, they're one and the same.

Games Workshop did a cheap version.

Or you could go for the Hirst Arts version.

There was an article somewhere on how to get it to look closer to Weathertop, but it looks quite good, and depending on the hill you use under it it can occupy a huge amount of an average size table....

I second the hirstarts one, I have that mould and it is very pretty.

Thanks, all!

Yes,  Thomarillion and Ziterdes do seem closely connected, and that does look like the dancing gif.

@joroas Do you have any other info? All I can see is the Forge World one, which seems to have had an original price in the neighborhood of $300USD.

Not comfortable with Hirst, though I know many fans personally.

The Hirst ones are easier if you buy pre-cast blocks.
