parthian army 28mm updated - ideas???
« on: September 30, 2013, 06:57:30 PM »
Hello friends,

inspired by the League of Augsburg,

I want to start with posting projects - I pursue - in this forum. (Administrators -- thanks for this forum!)

These projects will be basically 20 mm WWII, TYW 28mm, FIW 28mm, Colonial in 28mm and less Pirates.
I´m not interested in founding a club – I´m interested in project-related–cooperation  with wargamers in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, the UK -  in (high end) show presences and events - substantially at Crisis, Tactica and Salut.
If one of my projects inspires you–contact me.  (Even if you want me to lend an army.)

To start:

Has anyone ideas about this Parthian/nomadic  army  - for interesting games/ scenarios with it  -  any ideas for interesting enemies /opponents … ? (I think I will not do any opponents in the next decade!)
Do you have these enemies, do you want to take part with your opponent army for an event, or do you want me to take part? - contact me!

The parthian army:

84 Figures from Old Glory and Wargames Foundry!

The army insists of 8 units – 2 nobles units, 4 “real” horse archers units and 2 units of light cavalry – I count these as horse archers - each unit with 10 figures, based as 3 and 2 figures stands for the easy movement on the gaming-table – there is 1 HQ with a maximum leader an a few single figures for casualties.

The link for pictures of the hole army is :

Cheers
Achim

Nice figures.  What does the army look like?  :o

Nice paintjobs indeed. However, please keep the army pictures to this thread. Easier to find in one place. ;)

Indeed!

A great way to introduce yourself.

Now, what we need to know is:
Where are the rest of the pictures of this lovely looking army?
You did take more, right?
 :D

Hello Cyrus,
thanks for your post.
Yes - I have seen the warlord parthians - the look of the figures is "more pathian" than mine (!) - especially at the nobles/cataphracts. But the warlord-stuff won´t fit in size - the Warlord-figures are smaler and more filigree - look at the propper beefy faces of the Old-Glory-figures!
I´m really missing "Bear's Den Miniatures" in this case - the cataphracts were well done and the size fitted better. (I just bought one pack!)
If you take a look at the whole army you will find that a solution with Old Glory and Foundry will give you much more different poses and opportunities to style a varied army.

greetings
Achim
