Pulp Alley's Perilous Island, Chapter 6 -- THE SINISTER SWAMP
« on: October 07, 2013, 08:38:45 AM »
This is scenario #6 in our Pulp Alley Perilous Island campaign ---

The stench of death hangs heavy in the air making it difficult to breathe. Fetid standing water, rolling mists, and clouds of insects only add to the difficultly traversing this other-worldly swamp. The sucking mud lays claim to your feet and ankles, reluctantly releasing its hold.

You’ve come searching for evidence of the Darrow Expedition’s passage — broken plants, machete-cut jungle vines, and abandoned clothing. The occasional solid ground, an oasis of relief from the difficult travels, is sparse and welcome. Adding to the disturbing air of this sinister swamp is the increased presence of noxious vapors.

The oppressive silence is broken by low moans, possibly emanating from the moisture rich trees, possibly from something far more dangerous…

I will not now, nor will I ever retell the tale of blood and mud, screams mixed with wild gunfire, and the sickening sounds of gnashing teeth rending bloody chunks of flesh from the living…

ZOMBIES KO’d = 9, CHARACTERS KO’d = 3

ZOMBIES KO’d = 17, CHARACTERS KO’d = 4

ZOMBIES KO’d = 25, CHARACTERS KO’d = 5

ZOMBIES KO’d = 32, CHARACTERS KO’d = 6

FINAL COUNT:
ZOMBIES KO’d = 41
CHARACTERS KO’d = 7

…as the ravenous horde drives the living from their unhallowed ground, you are left to wonder at the fate of Lord Darrow. A few of the living-dead must have been members of Darrow’s Expedition, but what unearthly horrors befell the others.

The search continues next week on this forum!

Don't miss the next spine chilling chapter of Perilous Island -- BLOOD SACRIFICE!

The usual absolutely stunning game that we have come to expect. Outstanding.

Yes! That one was lots of fun. The zombies just kept coming and coming. We were so busy fighting zombies that we didn't have time to attack each other.  lol lol lol

Smashing stuff!  :-* It looks like it was a cracking game.

Game looks great! My table is currently set up for Sinister Swamp but we are having a hard time scheduling a game lately. I'm hoping we'll be back to our weekly Pulp Alley smash-up.

In related news, we just had two orders arrive on the same day. I am now the proud owner of Renedra Crates and Barrels, as well as models for a new league. I purchase both packs of Artizan robed cultists and I am thinking of painting the robes green and calling them the Jade Confederacy. Or maybe not.

Anyway, what's next - Jungle Trail or Blood Sacrifice?

WOW! You guys are already up to Sinister Swamp?   :o
I'll warn the natives there's another group to watch out for.

Amazingly, we don't own any robed cultists yet but I was definitely eyeing those Artizan cultists the last time we ordered. Can't wait to see how yours turn out.

The guys just finished Blood Sacrifice, so I'll try to have the new AAR posted over the next few days. Jungle Trail is scheduled for this Friday.

So far, two leagues have recovered two of the Lost Pages from Darrow's journal and are pieces together the clues. So there's a decent chance they may be moving into the island interior after Jungle Trail.  ;D
