The Storybook Game
« on: October 07, 2013, 06:53:45 PM »
For those not aware, the Storybook system gives a new twist to playing IHMN.
It can also be used with modifications for any skirmish game.
Effectively instead of taking sides, players have personal objectives.
Even more of a twist is added because players can take control of any figure in the game, no matter what side, no matter what allegiance.
We had a successful run of games under the title 'Once Upon a Time' at Derby (Details on another topic) and we will hopefully be taking the game to the following shows, Recon at Leeds this year, Hammerhead at Newark, Cannon at Retford, Salute at the Excel and Triples at Sheffield next year.

The system does require a lot of preparation, but plays very fast. Most of the Players who have tried it had never played IHMN before and still finished in just over an hour.

I have set the system up on a set of 12 JPegs. This has been speedily amended due to problems with Imagevenue. I am open to suggestions for better photo sharing sites!

These first four detail the rules of the system. I will add the scenario in a second post

I would welcome constructive feedback, but be assured this does work! At least two of the groups we had playing at Derby went off and bought the IHMN rules on the basis that I'd publish this.

I especially look forward to hearing Craig's comments! Yikes!

Can you pack it down into a PDF and send it to me?

Then I can offer it up on the IHMN blog and make you famous  lol :o

Craig

After some tinkering the whole package has been duly PDF'd and sent to you via landline (I think they call it email now)...

We are now confirmed at Vapnartak (York), Hammerhead (Newark) and Cannon (Retford). I am just awaiting confiormation from Recon.

The scenarios will change as we go along, scenery is added and new figures come on line!
