Pics up for latest Balkans War releases from Tiger.

NEWS FLASH!!! BALKANS WAR EXPANDS!!! NEW TROOPS FLOOD AMERICA!!!

If you didn't see the TMP announcement (and I wouldn't be surprised, it seems to have been buried halfway into the front page by newer news items) here's some links to the new stuff. We have them available in the US and Canada of course, and Tiger in the UK and Europe. We don't have the latest Krupp QF though. Which is just as well, there's no crew to go with the guns yet. :)

All of the new packs are 28mm and $13.00 each. (For US customers anyway. :) )

Bulgarians

http://recreationalconflict.lusagi.com/bulgarians.html

BWB-003 Bulgarian Infantry Command
BWB-004 Bulgarian Volunteer/Irregular Infantry
BWB-005 Bulgarian Irregular Infantry
BWB-007 Bulgarian Machine Gun Teams

Greeks

http://recreationalconflict.lusagi.com/greeks.html

BWG-003 Greek Infantry Command
BWG-008 Greek Cavalry
BWG-011 Greek General Command
BWG-012 Greek-Cretan Gendarmerie

Turks

http://recreationalconflict.lusagi.com/turks.html

BWT-003 Turkish Infantry Command
BWT-007 Turkish Machine Gun Team
BWT-008 Turkish Cavalry (Early)
BWT-011 Turkish General Command

We've also started a new special. If you buy any twelve packs of Tiger miniatures you get one of equal or less value to the cheapest one free. Just be sure to tell us what you want in an email or comments section when you go through paypal. We're thinking about extending that offer to the other ranges we carry so tell us what you think.

In the UK and Europe please see:http://www.tigerminiatures.co.uk/

Jibbery style oinkery which don't make no damn sense.

Hi Wolfgang,

Can you please tell me what the Krupp gun is designed on?

Thanks  8)
Best wishes,
Helen

No idea I'm afraid. I only sell 'em. :) And this is far from my usual area of interest.

Buuuuut, I've got a reference book from Barnes and Nobles on Twentieth Century Artillery. Used it to help me put the other two guns in the range together so it can't be all bad. :)

The chassis is a little different but it could be a mod on the 77mm Field Gun M96nA which has the same gun shield and barrel/recoil compensator setup. It seems the FK16 was an update of that model, and kept the gunshield and seats. The book specifically mentions use by the Bulgarians and Turks as a standard piece until about the 1930s.

I'd say the M96nA is the likely candidate. But again my only reading on the period has just been what's necessary to get the models assembled and on the website. :)

I'll ask Pete when we get back from Nashcon to be sure.

Nice looking gun but I suspect its provenance owes more to the fact that Tiger had put out an FK 16 and sought to extend its use by making a new barrel. Curious choices as the FK16 doesn't readily fit in with any of Tiger's ranges to date.

[Warning rivet counting below]

Alas for the purist it doesn't really seem to tally with an actual gun. The barrel does look like that of the FK 96 nA. The same carriage was used for the lFH 98/09 10.5cm howitzer but the barrel is definitely wrong if that was the intent.

Krupp made a large number of 75mm export models but they were universally of a box trail type. The only Krupp field gun with a vaguely similar carriage that I can think of is a Japanese built modfication. I'm happy to stand corrected but I think it's a bitsa, not unlike Cannonfodder's 'generic' Krupp piece.

That said it's a nice looking model and I'll probably buy one just to convert to a 10.5cm howitzer, I can always find a use for the spare barrel.

I so have some samples from the new releases. Very nice figures and highly recommended.

The best of all is the Bulgarian infantry command. I really like them.
Tiger miniatures also rectified the problem of the mould for the Greek infantry command and as I understand they are available by now.

A very interesting range, highly recommended and very useful for various settings.
Apart the obvious use for the balkan wars theaters 1912-1913 , they are most useful for WW1, foreign intervention against the boslheviks (1919) and of course the 1920-1922 campaign in Minor Asia (i.e. Turkey).

B&W film set on 'the island of the dead' haunted by Greek werewolf/ vampires during the Balkan Wars. Boris Karloff plays a Greek general. Not a bad little film but I'll admit it's a long stretch.

There is no lack of candidates in the Copplestone BoB Bolshevik range:

Actually the bloke on the far right and the one second from the left are a matching pair. Far right seems to be saying 'Fancy a pint?' whilst the other chap is clearly signalling his assent. Other two look a bit peeved that they've been left out of the round.
