Across the Dead Earth Campaign Game Number Four!!!
« on: August 18, 2014, 11:47:32 PM »

My mate Matt and I played our fourth game of AtDE tonight, and it was a game full of laughter and fun.

SCENARIO: The three wallabies in Bedford Park have to be killed AND dragged to the gangs starting zone before the end of the game.

SPECIAL RULES: There are three special rules in the scenario.

1 The wallabies are moving unpredictably, each turn after the first they move 2D6+1” in a random direction (we used a D8). A wallaby that will reach beyond the boundaries of the board in this manner is counted as having jumped the fence and escaped, being worth 0 Points!!! They will not fight and damage an opponent in melee but will defend themselves (rolling 2D6). They have a Toughness of 10 for the purpose of killing them. A wallaby has to be taken all the way to the gangs starting zone where it’ll be worth 20 Points each. Any wallaby left on the board by the end of the game is worth 0 Points.

2 Mob of Angry Farmers: at the start of turn 7 there is a chance the farmers will turn up and effectively immediately end the game. Roll a D6 before any of the gangs have taken any actions, and if the number is equal to or lower than the current turn minus 6 (ie turn 7 is 1, turn 8 is 1-2 etc) the game will end.

3 Bountiful Harvest: Any gang member that is not KO’d or OOA by the end of the game have stuffed their pockets with farming produce during their rampage, yielding 10 points each.

AFTERMATH: Only Hatamoto of the KRBD’s was KO’d in this game, the BRS’s came away with 70 Points and the KRBD’s with 80, winning narrowly. Both gangs put them into good use buying lots of goods and providing their gangs with extra training.

Bunyan Road Skins:

The leader Matty purchased Walkie-Talkie, medic Sophia bought Physician Heal Thyself! And one member became Sharpshooter. They purchased one Sniper Rifle + Silencer and Reflective Sights for Matty’s SMG from the local trader. Jab is still considered to be a Yob, the rest have all become Grunts or Specialists!!!

Kimbolton Road Budgens Duffers:

Hatamoto became Medic and they also bought a Sniper Rifle, Optical Sights for a firearm to be determined and a Rifle with Stock from the friendly trader. ALL of the gang are now Grunts or Specialists!!!

Both have come a very long from their starting point as Yobs armed only with knives.

Great game report and what an awesome idea.

I had thought of something similar more so for a faction than a scenario wallaby herders. Saying that though I have spotted amongst the Wreckage miniatures a Staker Herder with two Capybara they'd make great objectives for a scenario.

This is definitely my favourite special rule/adapted scenario so far! A great read and love your giant wallabies!  lol

Glad to see the "drag" rules getting used effectively to save a Gang member - all helps with the upgrades which seem to be coming on very nicely. The Gangs will both be hardened vets by the end of your campaign.
