Who is the 15 mm Bob Murch?

Title says most of it: what sculptor out there is closest to doing what Bob Murch is doing in his scale but working in 15 mm?  Has Bob ever worked in 15 mm (or heroic 18 mm)?

Conversely, if his figures are washed in hot enough water will they shrink?

I hate to see you forced to have this conversation with yourself so for the sake of mental health, I'll throw in the obvious answer which is if one is going to do Pulp with 15mm/18mm figures, at this time you have to go with the Blue Moon 15mm/18mm collections such as Deep Dark Africa, Horror and the one about Chicago gangsters.  Right now I think that is the best stuff out there in that scale.  I am sure you knew this already, but this saves you from writing another piece to yourself with the answer.  I still love the 15mm/18mm for my military figures, but I have gone with 25mm/28mm for my Pulp/Adventure/Victorian Gothic etc.  Richard

I also believe that Syr Hobbs carries some pulp.

The question would be why do you want to drag yourself down this road it's very much swimming up stream. Dont get me wrong I love 15mm and have huge armies in the scale, Romans, American Civil War, Samurai, Napoleonics, Zulus, and more but that is what the scale is for large armies.

I'm sure you have your reasons for wanting to do this in 15mm but I would seriously think about it before investing in that scale for that type of gaming... either-way , Good gaming to you!

First, Richard, thank you for your concern for my mental health (much too late, by the way  ).

Why 15 mm?  Everything I have is in that scale and I've just decided to stick with it.  I think you might be surprised at the number of folks out here who are moving into this scale for both pulp and VSF.  That is why there is more and more available in this scale.  The bigger figures do allow more character in an individual figure but 15 mm can allow a "broader game."

What am I looking for with this thread?  To find those things I'm not familiar with - like those sailors from Eureka in the second link from vonLucky (thanks!) - I can see those being used for a Sand Pebbles based game.

And for others who have this interest check out both Rebel Minis - the new SteamPunk stuff has some uses.  Also look into Highlander Studios.

Somewhere out there someone has or soon will have something I just can't live without.  Looked around a bit at Syr Hobbs and only found other peoples stuff (need to look more carefully, I guess) but can you point out specific items?

Oh, and I'm really looking forward to seeing Blue Moon's Chicago civilians - I'm hoping that pack of figures will crack open some new opportunities.

Earther, thanks for the link to the photo - nice figures, but sorry HerbyF, not of use to me.  My variation of Pre-Pulp/VSF is earth based and within the bounds of the laws of physics (of course, gas masks might make sense in my world as perceived but I just don't see it happening - one element of war I don't want to recreate on the table).

I know some think that limits me in what I can do and still call it pulp (or Pre-Pulp as I do) and/or VSF and still be in the "genre."  But I disagree with that sentiment, obviously.  Stay tuned (but don't hold your breath) to see my variation once it is "out there."
