Thanks guys

I use no more nails to create the flint and mortar effect, simply smearing on then poking it around with a tooth pick.  I used this technique on the church that can be seen in this photo by Captain Blood.

My LAF Gallery is HERE
Minis (foot & mounted) finished in 2024 = 32
(2023 = 151; 2022 = 204; 2021 = 123; 2020 = ???)

Final update on this thread for today....

.... Progress with the water mill.  It will be a small affair in wattle & daub with a thatched roof.  It will also be an undershot wheel as my boards don't have a falling water level.  When I have sorted out where the wheel will be fixed to the building, I'll have to cut a section  of it away to suggest immersion in water.

The wheel is being made from card hardened with superglue.

I've been pondering this wheel for about 9 months but naturally have started the build with only about 9 days to go!  Clearly I need to be a tad better organised to build my "friend with a laser cutter" into the critical path!!!  :D

As a kid my pocket money job was to burn waste plastic, i worked in the city for decades with all the pollution, then I did forestry and bushcraft and spent many an hour sucking in wood smoke, and now I use a lot of superglue and cast molten metal......

On the plus side, my activities for the last few consecutive Sundays have been (starting with the most recent).....

Ran 5 miles
Ascended Snowdon
Ran in a 10k race
Walked the Seven Sisters & Friston Forest Circuit
Cycled 29 miles

That's just the Sundays.  During the week I also walk the dogs, run 2 or 3 times, go to a climbing wall, ...

...... It's been pretty full pelt since our surfing/running/bouldering holiday in August

 ;)

PS: and I don't smoke cigars!

Not much to show for today's progress but I have got a kinda interesting image.

The farmhouse will be the largest building on the WotR table but it is dwarfed by the houses that will host my post apoc game
