Independent Ludus *2.2.14 Almost there*
« on: October 20, 2013, 09:02:40 AM »
I'm making a small, round Ludus for one of our members (Axabrax) and here is the very limited start... Just the base for now  lol

I'll have the vast majority done during the week which is the external walls, pilasters etc.

The arena is 12" across the inner circle and the hexes are 25mm across the flats. Please excuse the samurai in the centre, he's just for scale as I don't seem to have any 28mm gladiators for some reason  ::)

More to follow during the week  :)

cheers

James

Looooong time coming but it's almost done and will be winging it's way to it's new owner next week  :)

Just got finish off the spectator stand and paint the outside. Got some spiked palus and a couple of floor grates as well on normal bases which I'll take some photos of before it goes.

The figure is a 40mm gladiator but it will look fine for 28's also  :)

cheers

Yep, looks fantastic.  Curious what rules he's using if they don't require hexes...that's...UNPOSSIBLE.  lol

Bloody lovely work James.

You can just about make out the hexes on the arena floor in the photos. Very subtle.  :D

Many thanks chaps  :)

The hexes are a bit to subtle to my mind so I'll cut out a stencil and lightly spray the hex edges on. It'll still be subtle but you will be able to make all of them out  :)

cheers
