Antenociti GTK...
« on: November 05, 2013, 11:49:47 PM »
Jed kindly sent me a couple of pre-production models here's the first. Weathering restricted to a spray of 'dirt' on the chassis and lower hull (not the best quality pics sorry)

That weathering is so dead on I thought I was looking at an RC car that just came off the track.

Brilliant.

Just needs a little Mercedes badge in that front grill and it's sorted.  :D

Lovely work as ever mate!  :-*

Cool vehicle and a great paint job.  I agree with supervike about the weathering.  Looks very real!

Yep, those tires and the weathering make it look just like a RC car  :o Stunning work as usual, David!

That's ace! :o :o

Cool model! Perfect paint job!

If Mercedes made furturistic, heavily armed, armoured, all terrain vehicles, that's how it would look! You can almost see soccer mums dropping their kids off at post apocalyptic zombie school in that! ;)

Very nice as ever.

Not a single piece of camo in sight though. Are we sure this is the real Dwartist?

Very nice. The more civilian color scheme is ace.

I know you aren't typically one to provide any information on your techniques, but what do you mean by a 'spray of dirt'? Are you airbrushing a color, or using dry pigments?

I like one of these vehicles for the Relic Knights 'Cerci Speed Circuit' faction.

Me? always happy to share (time allowing  :D). I just airbrushed very diluted (just dirty thinners basically) Tamiya Dark Earth in several passes building up the colour to the required depth. Pigments on the tyres and dusted on the axles.

Very nice effect you've achieved, you're great at scale model effects on wargame vehicles. Antenociti is lucky to have you.

I haven't tried airbrushing solvent-based colors (I'm guessing that's what you mean by dirty thinners), I suppose I'll have to give it a shot sometime.

Lovely paintjob.  I find the vehicle a bit "too" similar to RC cars of my childhood, but not too bad!
