We, the South East Scotland Wargames Club put on a Chaco War display at the SKELP Wargames show in Forfar yesterday. We had previously tried it out to see if the game balance was ok - explaining why some of the photos look as though the games were being played on different tables. Also having removed some of the defences after the practice game to try to give them a reddish wash to match the mat, I then forgot to take them to the show - I blame my advancing age!
The scenario involved a Bolivian transport column trying to reach an isolated
fortin which the Paraguayans have under siege. The column was supported by a Vickers tank and a Carden-Lloyd tankette.
The Paraguayans were successful on both occasions, rather more so yesterday as the relief column was completely wiped out and the
fortin stormed. Highlight of the Bolivian day was the successful air-dropping of ice-blocks to replenish their water supply.
We used Bolt Action rules which worked very well. Most of the figures are from Scheltrum and the tanks are from Warlord.
You might be interested to know that the large range of Scheltrum vehicles will shortly be available from Scarab.
