Help identifying miniatures
« on: October 26, 2013, 12:16:09 PM »
Hi forum ;)
It's been a really long time since I posted anything and right. Off the bat I'm asking for help!
Sorry if I've posted this in the wrong place too, please feel free to move it if I have.
My problem is I've got a couple of miniatures that I've had for a very long time, and can remember nothing about them.
I was hoping someone here might be able to help me out with the name of manufacturer, date, rarity etc.
Thank you all in advance ;)

Minor skin grafts can be performed on pigs by covering any cuts and grazes with thin strips of bacon.

I don't recognise either I'm afraid. The first one makes me think LOTR though - Gwaihir and hobbitses. Perhaps some unlicensed range that isn't called that?

Just a guess though.

Yeah that's what I thought too, looks a bit like a grenadier model but I can't be sure.
Definitely gwahir, Gandalf and bilbo?

I think the first miniatures is an old Mithril Miniature. A dwarf (Bombur?) and Bilbo

I've just looked through the entire LOTR range by Mithril miniatures and can find no mention of this figure. Also I'm pretty certain that it's Gandalf and not one of the dwarves. I think it's a reference to a part of the story from The Hobbit where Gwahir carries Gandalf and Bilbo to safety.

Wow, that first mini is delightfully ridiculous. Are there any markings at all on the base?

No idea about the second either.

The pictures I took don't really do the figures any justice, they are both really quite detailed, so I took a couple more to try and enhance them a bit. As far as markings on the base of the four armed ogre figure, nothing that really stands out I'm afraid, I snapped a pic of the base just in case it helps anyone.

The Eagle is M140, the Great Eagle, Bilbo and Dori by Mithril Miniatures, currently no longer in production.

Many Thanx matakishi, I knew someone from this forum would come up trumps, many Thanx to everyone who suggested Mithril too, my eyes must be getting old if I missed that lol
Now if only I could find out where the pesky ogre/troll comes from

I hate to ask for further favours from you all but I've just found 2 more figures in the same box I had the others in, and a google search of Orc flasher and punk Orc has returned zero results :(
Anyone have a clue what these 2 are?

The bottom one is from the old Metal Magic fantasy range.  I have the same figure.

You beat me to it bud, I was just looking at this same page when you posted the link to it :)
The ogre figure is also on here, guard of the citadel it's called.
That's all of them identified now. I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped, you are gentlemen all :)
