It was quite a small show but seemed to be busy. The highlight was Deedles' superb Old West table. I'm kicking myself that I didn't get photos. I must admit I couldn't find too much of interest on the trade stands. There seemed to be a lot of Warhammer, 40k and other SciFi stuff on sale. I ended up buying nothing at all after talking myself out of the 4Ground under construction building!  Its always good to have shows to attend though so I hope it continues.

I didn't see much sci-fi at all (outside of GW stuff), and yes, it was small, cramped and not that impressive trader wise. Plenty of emphasis on the modeling clubs though (who had nothing for sale).

Yes, the modelling clubs took up a fair bit of space. Some of it was very impressive.

I was sure I'd seen a stall that had a load of sci-fi stuff I didn't recognise? There were at least three stalls with GW stuff. I would have liked to browse the Osprey selection more but everytime I stopped I seemed to block someone's way!

1st time that I've been to that show and I quite enjoyed it though there wasnt that many traders in attendence. I knew before hand that some of the bigger names wouldnt be showing their faces for one reason or an other but never the less I felt that if us punters couldnt be bothered to turn up then surely the low attendence figures would influence traders thoughts of returning in the future - it was a 3 hr round trip for me but I managed to pick up some bits I'd been after for a while.
Sad to hear that that might have been the last A Call To Muster ever...... seems to be the way with small shows when they become less popular.

Regards

As the show organisers we could not agree more with the point made in the last post - if punters do not turn up then the bigger traders might not be willing to attend, that did not stop Warlord Games attending however. By punters being willing to attend even though they know the bigger traders are not there does at least give the smaller traders a chance to do more business than they otherwise might.

I'd certainly attend another. I quite agree with the point that if we don't attend such shows they just won't happen. Warlord seemed to be doing ok business, as dud Colonel Bill (or at least the stands were busy, which may not amount to the same thing).

My big mistake was seeing some Don Troiani ACW books that I'd earmarked to go back for, then forgetting all about them! There were some lovely books there which I very much like to see as shows tend to be the place I get a lot of my books now.

I had an enjoyable few hours out, I had a few people join in my Old West game who seemed to enjoy it.

I spent my hobby fund for the  day .and supported a local trader or 2. I would have spent a bit more , but the trader could not take card payment.
Cheers

I love that encampment set up, it's quality! You even had the flickering fire effect.

Thanks for your post Bezzo, we are glad that you liked our idea to invite Vectis but sad that we could not get the traders you needed to empty your wallet!
