Van Helsing's D&D Miniatures Thread.
« on: October 26, 2013, 05:57:33 PM »
Finally started on some Fantasy Miniatures (part in readiness for the Otherworld Fantasy Skirmish Rules, part because I lost almost all of my painted D&D Miniatures)

First Up - "Anshar the Magic-User" :D

Back Detail.

(He looks better in the "flesh", the picture seems to have washed out the colours a little) you can't really see the dark green grain in the wood, nor the shading on the parchment.

I've also made a start of some dungeon decor (as you could see from the picture of the Magic User).

The Big Idol is halfway finished :D

Very nice sir. Love the magic user my favourite of all the OW released magic users. The terrain is nice as well looking forward to seeing that idol!

EXCELLENT STUFF...the Wizard, dungeon, & furnishings are all OUTSTANDING! VERY WELL DONE!

You two are making resisting the current Other World sale at Architects of War very difficult. When I crack it will be all your fault..thanks.

Great work!  8)

That mage has a very Excalibur's Merlin look to him, which is a good thing, mind.

Nice background too. Is it purely decorative, or is it part of a 3d dungeon? Looking great either way.

And is that altar also by Otherworld? The idol is similar to the large idol/statue they do...
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

I want to finish the Barbarian First (unfortunately not an Otherworld Miniature, he's a Barbarian from the from Lance and Lasers "Hero Wars" range (the range was recently acquired by Armorcast I think) - mostly because I'm kinda obsessed by this Character from Fire and Ice.

I took the Barbarian as a Base, and used the Axe from the Otherworld Miniatures Weapons Pack.

Thankies - very kind of you to say so (write so?)

That mage has a very Excalibur's Merlin look to him, which is a good thing, mind.

That was why I liked it and wanted to finish him first.

Nice background too. Is it purely decorative, or is it part of a 3d dungeon? Looking great either way.

Its an image printed out on sticky paper, mounted on foam core - to help me "plan" more effectively. (I find it easier to plan when I have something physical to lay out).

And is that altar also by Otherworld? The idol is similar to the large idol/statue they do...

Yes, you can get it as part of a set with the the Big Idol, or they come as an accessories pack as well - http://otherworldminiatures.co.uk/shop/demons-devils/dd1b-diorama-pack-accessories/

Then there is a variant Altar in this set here - http://otherworldminiatures.co.uk/shop/dungeon-furniture/df1-altar-braziers/

Awesome paintjobs! Looks like a great re-start to your collection.

Jevenkah

We got the big idol too. It was just too old-school to leave.
