Gaming in Moscow
« on: October 31, 2013, 09:41:36 PM »
Well, I'm coming to the end of my PhD and it seems very likely that my next step is Moscow.  Over the last year I've been a member I've seen a few people here from Moscow, but I dont remember who.  My question is, what's the level of gaming in Moscow?  What games are people playing?  Are there formal clubs or just groups of friends?

Cheers!

Moscow has a lot of different wargaming groups and clubs.
Most played game is Warhammer 40k and FB, but there is also a quite strong historical community.
You can look for more specific information about russian wargaming on these forums: http://forums.warforge.ru/   In Russian but i think it would not be a problem to find some english speaking people there.

Yes, you can find big enough community of FOW players in Moscow.
FOW is a second in popularity locally after GW. Well in fact i think you can easily find opponents for almost any more or less known wargame, different skirmish games being especially popular. :)

It's a good thing it's not 1988 - because in Soviet Russia, games played you!
