I can genuinely say I miss the days when I had only my 2nd edition 40k box and a couple of armies. So much simpler, stuff was actually hard to even find then, the Internet wasn't  a thing - those were the good days of gaming for me. White Dwarf 222 with the Ork's Drift battle report was my favourite. I repainted my entire Ork army in gritty metals with washes following that. I think that was the turning point.

I miss those days too - I LOVED reading the old battle reports - event when I didn't play 40k or Warhammer it didn't matter. They had detail and maps with diagrams ... brilliant stuff ... unlike now a days. That Ork's Drift was fantastic. Now I know which issue it was in I will keep an eye out for a second hand copy. I'd love to be able to show it to my son!
