What is INEPTT
« on: November 03, 2013, 05:48:56 PM »
Hi all, I am continuing my work on my INEPTT (International Extraterrestrial, Paranormal Tactical Teams) rules and thought I would provide you this background.
The rules are now set up to allow missions from 1900 thru to 2013 (well 2020 I suppose) as it sits right now and we have experimented with everything from about 1935 up to modern times. Hope you enjoy reading the background:

THE HISTORY OF THE INTERNATIONAL, EXTRATERRESTRIAL, PARANORMAL, TACTICAL TEAMS ORGANIZATION.

In 1841 the British archeologist and explorer Sir Jame Alexander Baker was making his way through Cambodia. Baker was an active sportsman, hunter and adventurer and at 35 he was in prime health both mentally and physically. He was leading a team of 20 fellow archeologists, adventurers and explorers through Cambodia when he came upon the ancient ruins of Angkor. Fascinated with the history of the ruins Baker began an excavation centred on a building which the local population said was a library of sorts.

Baker worked on the ruins for approximately three years and made magnificent discoveries regarding the ancient Khymer rulers, but more importantly he discovered the mind behind the Khymer rule and this troubled him deeply. Baker became more closed in his communique with his supporters as well as he began to have suspicions of his companions. He all but abandoned looking into more valuable lines of discovery, but instead focused on the ancient, often believed fictitious, city of Shambhala!

The more Baker found concerning the origin of the ruler of Shambhala the more concerned he became and he started to develop a haggard, fearful look but his drive to find out the truth drew him further into the ancient legends of humankind. What was the linkage that Shambhala would have with the Khymer dynasty was the first thing that peaked Baker's curiosity and ended with him making one of the most profound discoveries in the history of Occult and Paranormal studies.

As Baker began to draw more information from his digging and reading his mind raced ahead to the thought that he needed to get to Tibet to find Shambhala itself. He discussed this with his team and they almost to a man though the idea ludicrous. However, Edgar Jephson (a Tibetan traveller) and  Arthur Nares both joined Baker in his desire to find out what was going on.

In 1844 Baker, Jephson and Nares all travelled to Tibet in an effort to find Shambhala. Nares was born to extreme wealth and funded the expedition. They hired local Sherpa's and got the best equipment money could buy. For two years the team trekked through the Himalaya's in search of the cities. In the summer of 1846 they found an old over grown road approximately 100 miles east of Kyunglung village amidst the foothills of mount Kailash. The road lead to an ancient tumbled down gate and the vast ruins of what once must have been a beautiful cities at the base of Kailash.

For three months the team excavated various spots in the ancient city and discovered that it was indeed the ruins of Shambhala! While excavating an old mine adit, Jephson was killed along with 3 Sherpa s by a small avalanche from the ice field on Kailash. Another group of 5 Sherpa left stating that there was something wrong with the ground and this left only Baker, Nares and 2 other Sherpa's – Lapka Sunuwar and Taki Gelu. In October of 46 Nares and Sunuwar were killed by “a Beast”. Leaving only Baker and Gelu but by this time Gelu was every bit as obsessed as Baker was in discovering WHAT was up in that ancient ruin.

According to Bakers testimony at a closed enquiry held in London in 1856, he and Gelu entered the Adit where Jephson had been killed. The Adit appeared as if normal for approximately 100 to 150 meters into the mountain and then things changed – drastically! The floor and walls became smooth and marble like in appearance and it was heated but from no source the two could find. They continued down and into the mountainside to a depth that Baker estimates was not less than 1 kilometre! Here they came to two strange things, first were two large statutes of Nagas and second was a large Golden door. As they approached the door it opened into an immense underground temple. The temple was occupied by numerous humans but also a number human like beasts with either white or brown/black fur or hair. Waiting at the door were two priests who indicated they had been waiting for Baker and Gelu and brought them to their headman. It was at this point where Baker was introduced to Kahla Burhamat. Burhamat sat both Baker and Gelu down and explained to them that first they could not stay after he had given them the information they sought and two that they would never be able to come back as the city would be lost to them.

Burhamat explained that there were 12 ancient evils in the world as we know it and there are 12 ancient goods as well. Each had or still live on the earth but none of them were originally from the earth. Ancient evils like, Mummies, Vampires, Werewolves and Demons were all real and were a plague upon the earth. The good fought the evil with talisman like ash from the ancients held in vessels like the Ark of the Covenant or the Kepatuta Vase. The evil and good were aliens but they had lived so long on earth that they no longer remembered that they were not Gods or Devils but just a creature from another time and place. The evils had become more active recently and would become more so at the turn of the century due to planetary alignments. Then the next 75 years would be extremely dangerous for humankind as the evils attempted to over run the earth with their minions. The goods were more limited in what they could do to help again because of the planetary alignment but they would be available to provide help if they could be found. Burhamat warned Baker that the evils knew he was here and that his life was now in danger and that in fact it is almost certain that the evils had already tried to kill him but only managed to kill his companions.

In all Baker sat with Burhamat – without speaking, eating, sleeping or washing for 5 days. Finally on the 5th day when Burhamats mind fell silent Baker and Gelu fell asleep and when they woke they were both back in their camp in Shambhala. They discussed what happened and both agreed with the other. They quickly packed and left Shambhala to make for Katmandu as quickly as they could. Gelu said he would spread the word to his fellows and Baker said he would do the same.

It took Baker 3 years to get back to England – he found his trail dogged and way blocked on countless occasions by sinister forces but he also met along the way Francois Gerard, a French occultist who quickly gained Bakers confidence and agreed to get word to his government.

As you know Baker was finally given government audience in 1856 in an enquiry that took 3 years and was marked as Extreme Top Secret and still is today. The Government of Her Majesty stood up a special task force to look into Bakers discovery and over the next 27 years they shared some of their intelligence with certain members of the Empire (Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand and South Africa), France, Italy and the United States. During this time both Germany and Russia also became aware of the problems and soon Japan and China were also able to acquire some of the knowledge as well.

In 1898 Great Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, France, and the United States formed the Occult Services Special Operations Branch. Their task was to seek out and recover any Good talisman that they could find and to eliminate any Evil equipment, talisman, covens, groups etc along the way. Germany had their own Okkulten Spezialeinheiten, the Russians had a similar group. These forces were often in a secret war with one another and this continued on into the 20th century when in the mid 80's INEPTT was formed as we know it today.

Pretty cool.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.
