Proxy War Kickstarter: Custom 3D Miniatures
« on: November 06, 2013, 12:01:07 PM »
I havent seen another thread about this yet:

Proxy War Kickstarter: Custom 3D Miniatures

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/proxyarmy/proxy-war-custom-3d-printed-miniatures

It looks very interesting to me.  I worked hand finishing 3D printed models for a while back in the late 90s and I used to regularly wish that I had the resources to try out some custom toy soldier stuff.

With the tech having got better by fifteen years since I am really interested to see what can and cant be done now. Maybe these guys are the guys to do it.  Its just a matter of time before someone does.

The idea is indeed pretty interesting and it'll be nice to watch how it turns out. The atrocious p&p from US of course kills the option of me really taking part in this personally. I'll consider giving them a token support of $10 for their rules tho I need yet another ruleset about as much as an extra hole in the head.

Yeah, the shipping is very high, even by modern expensive shipping standards.

If I lived in the US then I would definitely consider getting ten custom figures made for 55 bucks though.  That would be a fun project even for its own sake.
