The Old West...Cowboys....Indians....Cavalry....etc, etc....

Tell me who has not at some point in their life been fascinated by the above.
As a young lad born in the '70's I grew up on afternoon and Sunday Westerns, so eventually doing an Old West project was a simple no-brainer.

Having been lurking on this board for ages, and being inspired by all your great projects (and bullied by some of the other boys, who's names shall not be mentioned  ::)) , I have been slowly putting some stuff together for an Old West town, along with a few figures for the project.

I have managed to get my hands on quite a few buildings that others have sold on the Bazaar and these will form the backbone of the town and enable me to get some scenery on the table fairly quickly.

At the start of the year I bought quite a few buildings from Bobble as he had decided to move his town on.
Some lovely buildings, all scratch built and very well thought out.

Here are a couple of Bobble's pics of the town...

I also recently got my grubby mitts on two MDF buildings brilliantly taken to the next level by Phil Hendry, after he sold them on the Bazaar.

Two great buildings, I am sure you will agree.
He also threw an MDF gallows in for me, which was much appreciated

The plan is to 'pimp' these buildings so that they will work well together and blend in with those that I intend to add to them, which will mostly be adobe structures as I would like a town that mixes the two styles.

The first part of the plan is to base all the buildings on MDF for added strength and also give me something to 'tart up' as I find that there is nothing better for unifying things than basing.

I will be starting on the first building later and shall post up some progress pics as soon as I have them....

I Thought you were older than that ;) :D

Looking forward to seeing how your project develops. :)

I know you do, Grandpa.
You keep forgetting my birthday!
At your age I should not be surprised really.....
 :D

Looking forward to seeing how your project develops. :)

Well, I shall be shamelessly stealing ideas from you when it comes to the adobe part of town.
 :D ;)

I should have stated that those first three pics are not mine.
I can assure that my cars are most certainly NOT in boxes...

And when we talked about battles fought in the West, we didn't mean QPR vs. Millwall, Mason! 8)

You are one of the fella's responsible for me heading out West, Serenity is an inspiration.

Looks like you shall have to be painting some Cowboys soon, mate.
smokezombie has already 'bagsied' the Mexican Banditoes.
 ;)

Here is the first building that I shall be 'pimping'.
A Sheriff's Office made by Bobble.

As I have two buildings designated as a Sheriff's office this one shall become a Bank.
I think that should be quite fitting for a brick built building.

Here it is sitting on it's MDF base awaiting some attention...

More later, when some progress has been made....

Looking gooood  :)

very nice stuff already! :)

Thanks, chaps.
I agree.
Phil and Bobble have both done a great job, now it is down to me to get both styles of buildings to marry up with my own efforts.

The Bank will be the first piece converted to fit in with my style, an example of which I shall post later when I find the piccie......

Thanks, Za!
I already have the LotOW rulebook and Elbows' SNS rules to try out first.
I will see how I get on with those first.
Thanks for the recommendation, as a back-up is always welcome.

I have some Cowboys that a fine and upstanding chap sent to me to add to this project too.
 :D

Excellent start! You already have more buildings than my own Schitte Creek  lol I shall be watching this thread with interest. I love all of the Wild West projects on this board. Everyone is different and great in its own way. Great for inspiration.

Edit: only just noticed the name if your town lol very similar to my own. Must be neighbours on the same creek.
