With exams well and truelly over (still pending results), its time to do some more painting. This time, it is a mordheim band that is up, as we will be playing some games of that in the club very soon.
I've settled for the possessed (for now...), and will be doing a cult of Slaaneshi lowlifes.

First up, a mutant with a club and a scorpion tail, for that delicious extra S5 attack:

Bobbey, the miserable mutant manservant, emerges from a dark corner.

It's a good ole' kit bash, with both Skaven, Chaos mutations, empire milita, a Darn Angels cencor and an old plastic genestealer arm in there. Overall, I am pretty happy with how he turned out. Next up on the painting station this Possessed:

Raaaargh, SMASH

It's incredible what one can build with a bit of imagination and a bitz box full of abandonned army projects  ::)

A really well paint job  :D
I envy you, if only yet I painted at your good level when I was at your age ;)

Fine! I'm only 36 years old and yet envy the youngers? This is not good  :-X  ;)

It is indeed; AND it looks like you are making the most of your treasure trove of miscellaneous goodies. Both pieces are HIGHLY imaginative, BEAUTIFULLY painted creations. VERY WELL DONE!

And then I look at the stuff some of the 18 year old lads produce over on CMON, and feel rubbish and old. Hah!

Thanks for the kind words, all!

I just finnished the Possessed (paint is still drying) sans the base. (That one is is drying as well):

I am pretty happy with how properly nasty he turned out. The only thing is that the flesh is a bit messy in some places. But I guess that kinda suits the miniature :P

Hey! It's been awhile since I last commented on your stuff. It looks really nice. Of the plague bearers the fly-headed guy is my favorite. The mutants are pretty cool; nicely painted.

Cheers Kaiser.

Being almost done painting the possessed gang, I decided that actually and properly finishing a project befor emoving on to the next wouldn't do. Thus, I immediately launched into a Witch hunter warband, currently counting, in total, this fella here:

He is yet to be named, but that will come later.

Do you already have a name for him?
There popped a lot I my head when I saw this nicely painted guy!

Really lovely Witchhunter. Great job on the painting. Is that a Mordhiem figure?

Really lovely Witchhunter. Great job on the painting. Is that a Mordhiem figure?

Its made from a combination of various empire bits for weapons (pistolier, handgunners box and Knightly Orders) and the Warlord Games Imperial Infantry kit (Hat and main body). I picked up the box at a steal at a local games shop.
For those not as lucky, I'd just grab the command sprue from their webstore, as it contains the most useful bits. I think they sell the hats seperately as well.

Warlord Games ECW range actually contains quite a few goodies for budding Witch Hunters with a kitbashy disposition.

(Underlined things are clicky)

As for the name, I haven't got one yet, but I expect it all to fall into place as I collect the rest of these guys:

I've painted a bit more stuff for the witch hunters, which Ill get around to posting eventually, but meanwhile, here's another guy I've had laying around for an age:

The integral base turned out to be almost impossible to remove, so his basing is a bit wonky. Still, he is painted now, and playable. I really like the miniature, loads of character. Not too sure about my colour choice (all 3 primaries on a single piece, heresy!), but I think he turned out okay. He is destined for a small band of adventurers I am putting together, for some narrative/campaign-gaming with a semi-homebrew system.

Edit: Four Primaries? I am more tired than I thought

The Mutant Guy & the Witch Hunters both completed & in the works look WONDERFUL. The finished pieces boast OUTSTANDING paint jobs. The Old Grenadier Wizard is a long time favorite with moi; you're rendition is SPLENDID. VERY WELL DONE one & all!

Enough with these grim Mordheim miniatures (for a little bit at least). Back to what its all about; weird and wonderous miniatures for my fantasy warbands.

Sir Raleigh and the Wizard Timothy clash with vile warriors of the Dark Gods.

This knight follows on after the Wizard, and is meant for the same warband/faction.

Close-up

I've had him sitting around on the paintingdesk for an age, and then some, and finally decided that it was time. I think he turned out just splendid. I really like the play between the green and the blue.

Sir Raleigh and the Wizard Timothy look fantastic together. I can see the forces of the Dark Gods tremble on their bases. Great painting.
