Battle debris terrain bit for Dux Britannarium

On the workbench: Dark Ages battle debris terrain for DuxB
After months and months of playing a Dux Britannarium campaign and finally getting my warband painted, my somewhat ADD type attention turns to some Dark Ages terrain bits for the battlefield. I have your basic trees and such, so I decided to add some unique Small terrain pieces. First concept is a 6″ x 6″ battle debris terrain piece using Dark Ages casualty figures from Gripping Beast and some cut-down minis from other manufacturers. This would probably be a minor obstacle in the Dux B rules.

Here's the log entry, early picture below: http://sbminisguy.wordpress.com/2013/11/14/on-the-workbench-dark-ages-battle-debris-terrain-or-duxb/

Here's the WIP shot, I'll work next on base coat and then detail work after this dries.

Play the game, not the players!

I'll be most interested to see this finished. Looks good so far!
Measure with a micrometer, mark with chalk, cut with an axe, hammer to fit, paint to match!

Thanks! Hopefully I'll get a few more bits done. Here's what I've come up with, any more ideas would be helpful.

1. Roadside Christian shrine
2. Saxon "hanging tree"
3. Saxon worship circle and or sacrifice (boar or horse, maybe?)
4. Standing stones
5. Jumble of rocks, one with a sword jutting from it
6. Ruined hovels

Well, base coated in brown since I don't want to have repaint everything brown..on to the next stage, actually painting and detailing it.

Moving slowly on my projects on all fronts, but here's the basic block and tack painting done. Next step is to do some detailing of the figures and the base.

Oh my giddy aunt! It looks like Dux Brit meets Sam Peckinpah with a side order Tarantino...

What's to not like? :-*

Finished the basic painting, hit it with a wash, and then detailed and flocked the base. May still be some touch-ups in order, like the stray bits of dry grass that came loose after gluing — but on to the next piece!
