The Mercenary Army - My life long project
« on: November 16, 2013, 02:39:51 PM »
Hello Gentlemen,

today I just want to post some pics of my Fantasy Mercenary army.
This is a really life long project I started nearly 10 years ago with some Marauder dwarfs.

The plan is to put new recruits to it on a regular basis. These recruits will be of different races and weapon types.
I played WFB with them though I really like to use this army for lots of different gaming systems in the future.

The only common theme it has is that all units should be in a mercenary landsknecht look.

The pictures here a just a little selection of what I already have painted.

Enjoy!

Wow!  Love the mix of Landsknecht Ogres and Dwarves.  Some fine, old hard-to-come-by figures there.

Those are BEAUTIES...GREAT minis WONDERFULLY painted. The Renaissance look to the old Citadel & Marauder minis is what attracted me to G.W's take on Fantasy.Watching your Mercenaries  forces grow will be pleasure...keep 'em coming!

Lovely. That Marauder ogre with the cannon is my all-time favorite, you've made it look super.
It's nothing, sir. Just a burn from a ray gun.

Yes, you are right with the shield design. Some day it will all fit together, one Über-Army... :D

That's a 1992 Golden Demon winning shield design if I'm not mistaken? Loved the dwarf army back then, love these ogres even more!

Is that a converted Hrothyogg?

I like that conversion. I'm tempted to steal the idea, but then I'll be bringing out my own additions to the old ogre range sometime next year, so better wait.  ;)
