Looks good sir.  I prefer Pulp Alley to 7tv, but if it works for you, use it.  Lovely board, though.

@Maspalio

I use Crooked Dice's 7Tv as a basis (or rather the 7ombie Tv supplement ...sans the zombies).

You "made your own cook"...as I do too  :D

I use Pulp alley which is translated in french... more comfortable for me :D even if reading english is absolutely not a problem  lol

@ Constable Bertrand

Ooh yeah, I saw those. Heh, photoshop wizardry. Hmn, looking at them I can see all the elements that went into them. How much time did you spend making those? That and I take it you had someone local to make hard copies of them? Ah... ok that's probably noted in the thread,  but well, repeating yourself to people's fun (I'll give it a proper read in a bit, instead of composing a few business emails I'm sitting here on a forum). I do like the format you have there as apposed to the 7Tv one where every card has the same background. ..That'd be something to think about on another day though I feel (when I could be bothered sitting either on google images all day or installing the games to take some screenshots ...all day).

I'd rather they were of a quality comparable to the ones made for 7Tv, which I suppose is possible, ah, but that'd require effort on my part. Until I have to run a show game or something I don't think I'll be going for that level of professionalism. ;)

I'm sort of considering running a game which involves less models per side. Players keep saying its a good idea, but I'm against giving each of them a single model due to how easy it is to die in a game. I've reduced the number of models per side already and beefed up their stats to compensate, but I'd rather now do that again and have ones with super human stats. Hmn, I'll work something out, even if that's just giving models some re-rolls or something.

My intention with that would be to run a scenario which 1) would require less micromanaging on my part (given the amount of models per side and player's lack of confidence with the system) and 2) allow me to run something which perhaps fits the games a bit more. I mean playstyle wise, with a limited number of player models going up against the wasteland itself rather than each other. Not to say I would stop running the player vs player games, or that these would have less of that, but that I'd rather have more exploration going on. The enemies wouldn't be always out to get them, but instead have detection radius and patrols in cases, just so players could run about interacting with the environment instead. See that's something that I want to be emphasized in my games, but quickly falls by the wayside when the shooting starts. I'm all for players scavenging about in old filing cabinets looking for goodies, but when there's an enemy which they see as a threat down the street they tend to make a bee-line for them. Hmn, I suppose I'd have to work out a pretty sound system to prevent them doing that (just telling them "really guys you don't have to kill everything you see" probably won't cut it).

Ah, but there's another of my spiels on the nature of the games I run. Pushing towards games being more about exploration (with the objectives obviously being either something relating to "find the thing" or at least not being able to kill the big beastie without gearing up first) seems like it might not be what most gamers are used to given my own experiences. I'll work something out, but I really would like to be able to use my fauna more often. =/

And I don't intend to touch a Fallout game again until the next one comes out. I gave the two latest ones a replay a few months ago to jog my memory, but having spent way too much time playing them that's one sinkhole I don't want to go back to soon. That and having not played Fallout 3 in years just how poor the writing was shone through a little (Skyrim was better, so hopefully 4 will be an improvement in all areas like that was to Oblivion). At the moment I'm receiving my post-apocalyptic goodness from Wasteland 2. Having made it over the hump that was the first few missions, where you're chucking about with bugger all ammo or medkits, its turned out to be a decent game. I do have my irks with it however, though that's not going to stop me spending too long playing it either. Time to take some ques from it I suppose as far as making future terrain and minis I suppose (if the enemies would quit turning into a red paste before I can look at their fancy armour).

All the cards took hours, weeks even. But there are over 150 in total.  o_o

If you send me your mission text I can make you some mission cards if you'd like. A small fee would certainly help. It's probably only 1 hours work, perhaps 2. :D - the mission cards are made by me from scratch, no external graphic was used.

I used some royalty free images for some of the characters so these are able to be reproduced no worries. I also did some Photoshop magic with a few portraits of local gamers I play with, makes for a little extra fun.

In terms of printing cost I was surprised. To print double sided A3 on a card stock in colour, and to have them all gilloteined only cost me $35AUD! Cheap as chips! I will certainly be going back there.

Cheers
Matt.

I am glad so many players are getting to use the french translation of Pulp Alley. I am hoping to get Perilous Island released in French as well.

Thanks, Sinewgrab. Dad and I appreciate the encouraging comment.

Have fun

@ Constable Bertrand

Cards are something that I doubt I have the patience to sit down and plan out at the moment. With 7Tv it has a set of cards which represent random events (set pieces falling over for instance), but I'd assume they'd work in the same format as yours. Like I said though I'd have to sit down for a while and design and work out the contents of those, so they're not high on my priorities right now unfortunately.

What did I do this week? Ah, uni crap's been building up, and on my free days I slept a lot. Yup, I just ooze commitment.
Well I did manage to put together the first of a pair of ruins based of off a kit from the Mars Attacks! Kickstarter. This one sits on a sheet of A4 plasticard, as is the other one the same size (I haven't put that one together however as I've ran out of loose bricks unfortunately).

The kit's all right for what it is. It bugged me a little having to cover up all the holes that weren't used for clips (the pieces fit together in a modular manner), but well, it looks better than the Tamiya brick ruins. There's a few loose bits like filing cabinets, a barrel and the wall terminal which are by Ainsty Castings. I have a safe based off of the in game one too, ah, but I fell asleep before I could finish it. Tsk, oh, and the cacti are by Pegasus Hobbies (thanks to people suggesting them in a thread I had here). Eugh, I'd thought I could buy these from their site, but evidently they only distribute to the US. Instead I managed to pick up the last two kits that Amazon had, as oddly none of Pegasus' UK retailers had them in stock. Weird, but meh, now I have plenty of the things to clutter up things with.

Righto, there's that. Bugger actually working on it till I either have the time free again, and don't use that for more sleep. =P

I love this ruin but you may want to wash/weather the bricks a little more. What was the issue with the Tamayia bricks? there size? 1/32nd scale?

Heh, that ruin isn't painted yet. ;)

The Tamiya set's pretty much made up of three different pieces (an intact section, a broken bit and an end piece), so its pretty limited in what you can do with it. The previous brick ruin I made (the office one with the toilet) was made from those, and I can say already that I think that this Mantic one looks much better. The Tamiya one looks more structured than this, having too many flat edges that need to be broken up a bit, whilst the other's all the over the place, so much better. IIRC I used the 1/32nd Tamiya kit as it was easier to get a hold of, but I have the 48th scale one too. Mantic's closer to 48th, but it doesn't really make a difference with either scale for 28mm.
