Finally, the first ever 20mm historical modern mini painted by me  lol

The other minis will be based on this process, so they should be very similar. I'll post pictures of the other minis as soon as I'll finish them, probably tommorow.

Thanks !

Here's some preview pics of the other command group members. In order,

Lieutenant  (Section/platoon leader), FAMAS
2nd sharpshooter, hk417
NCO, FAMAS assault rifle
Radio Operator, FAMAS

I still have to finish the bases. Now the glue is drying.

Magnifique!
(Sorry, not that I can speak more French, but I thought it deserved a word in your own language!) :)

Merci beaucoup  :D

I finished the 2 squads ("groupe de combat") and the command group. Here's a preview, it's too late to make good daylight pics, I'll do it tommorow.

edit  : here's a pic of my tackles boxes. In a local store I bought a bag with 4 of them for 15euros (around 20usd), then I added some cut down magnet sheet (the same you stick on fridges) inside.

One tackle box =one complete section (=platoon), and room still remains.

I can carry a complete modern warfare set (big talibans force, one french platoon, some special forces, dices) in a bag this way. Not including the vehicles, I'm afraid, but it's not bad for the price.

Here's final pics of the "groupe de commandement".

The gaming mat is homemade too.

2nd "groupe de combat" (same organization).

To explain, a bit of translation for french organization :

"section" = platoon
"groupe de commandement" = command group (2 sharpshooters, a radio operator, a NCO, a leader/Lieutenant)
"groupe de support" = support group (2 spotters with FAMAS, a leader, and 2 ERYX operators)
"groupe de combat" = squad (équipe300+équipe600m+1 leader)
"équipe 300m" = fireteam with AT4 (2+1 leader)
"équipe 600m" = fireteam with minimi and LGI (2+1 leader)
"LGI" (lance grenades individuel) = grenade launcher (looks like a mortar, a bit)
"tireur de précision" = sharpshooter

Weapons currently used in conventional forces :

FAMAS cal 5.56 assault rifle (diferent versions available, the most up to date is the FELIN version).
FR-F2 sharpshooter rifle, cal 7.62
HK417 sharpshooter rifle, cal 7.62
FN Minimi light machine gun, cal 5.56

Impressed.

Can we get more details on how you made the mat and what it looks like?

Thanks !

For the mat I simply followed tutorial I found here on Lead adventure. I'll try to find the link later.

Here's a pic of the mat. The color is not good on this pic (rainy day), the real thing is more like you can see with the french soldiers minis.

Hi,

I'm currently modifying the support group ("groupe d'appui) to complete my french infantry.

Using american minis, I customized them to blend them with my elhiem french minis.

The biggest work was on the spotters, adding some FAMAS rifles. Especially one of them I resculpted the weapon completly.

I also prepared a replacement mini for one of the ERYX operators. Apparently, current french operations often swap one ERYX for a LMG or MMG operator (5.56 minimi, or in this case, what I guesss to be a 7.62 AANF1).

You probably noticed that the 2 ERYX operators are not really using a ERYX missile launcher. One of them is suficiently accurate for this scale, the other one not at all    But anyway, for FoF it should not be a problem, and it will be a decent Count as proxy model. But I will probably swap it for the MMG operator most of the time.

Now I'll wait a bit for drying, then prepare/sand the minis for painting. I will probably start  my french infantry last minis this week end.

You paint 20's far better than I can paint 28's, I'll give you that.  Lookin' good.  With the constant deployment of the French military right now, you'll have plenty o' scenarios to use them with.
