Painting started !

I still have to add 1 color to the camo pattern. But once it will be done, it should be fast to complete the minis. Probably wednesday they will be completly finished and based.

By the way, the 2nd heavy weapon operator will be a good LRAC proxy, finally. So my crew will contain one ERYX proxy and one LRAC proxy.

The uniforms, heavy weapons and tactical vests are done. I still need to paint the weapons and final details, but it's progressing. It will be completed tommorow, probably !

Here's some bad night pics. Not all the minis are visible since other pics were too awfull.

The platoon infantry is finished. here's the first pics, the "groupe d'appui anti chars" (support group).

In order :

Group leader
ERYX operator
ERYX spotter/ammo bearer
LRAC (french rpg) operator
LRAC spotter/ammo bearer
extra MMG operator (7.62 AANF1), often replace one of the antitank operators in Afghanistan

300m team leader :

300m AT4 operator :

300m rifleman (also with at4, but not visible on mini...) :

Equipe 600m (fireteam 600 meters)

600m leader :

600m 5.56 FN minimi gunner :

600m grenadier (LGI "lance grenade individuel", grenade launcher, not visible except a grenade visible in the back of the tactical vest) :

Now I'll work on my taliban force ;)

I went back on my french forces, even if the regular platoon is completed, I still have to build the two 6men groups of Special forces.

I started by resculpting the weapons, changing the US armalite rifles by HK416 rifles, wich are more common in french SF.

Each group is made of a 4men stick (hk416) and 2 specialists (marksmen with HK417 and  snipers with 12.7 bolt action rifles).

Here's the first pics of the first group assault rifles operators :

Modifications on the rifles are simple : removing the delta ring and front sight, make the RIS a bit longer, and adding a Crane stock. It gives a convincing (in my opinion at least) HK416 feeling.

I'm now working on uniforms, making them "less civilian".

I also removed (not visible on pics yet) the afghan hat on one of the figures, replaced by a scarf.

To be continued tonight ;)

Ohh really nice work. And great to see some French forces. At one time I thought about dooing 20mm modern French forces, if I ever pick up that project this will give tons of inspirations.

thank you !

I primer painted them, they are stored until the spray paint smell disapears so i can bring them to my workshop bedroom  lol

The conversions seems to blend pretty well once the minis black primered. I'll show you these tomorow. I also took my 3 technicals, I have to finish their paint (I'll probably work on these tommorow).

Your figures look great, I really like the washed out look you have achieved on the uniforms.

I noticed your Colonial Portuguese thread on another forum (and answered!), I am looking forward to seeing the results of that now.
Keep up the good work and it was nice to see that I am not the only one who gets back ache when painting!

thank you  !

Concerning uniforms, I noticed that on pics french troops were often covered by dust (from sand color to redish earth), so I tried to find a good overall "battle" look.
