Source for fairy-sized fairies!
« on: November 21, 2013, 06:42:24 PM »
I found a very neat source for some tiny fairies, close to proportional to 28mm figures: http://www.modellbahnshop-lippe.com/produkt/Preiser/75-4-000-49653-021005-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-gb-h-0/produkt.html

Just in case you were looking for anything close!

They look interesting and fit in with something i am doing but how big are they?
They are HO scale but does that mean they are 20mm tall and as big as a man or are they much smaller as a fairy normally is.
At least all the fairies i have seen (usually at 4:00 in the morning after a bottle of Absinth) were quite small! ;-)

Steam flunky raises a good point - what is the actual size/height of the figure?

Gracias,

Glenn

In the packaging I saw they looked about 12-15mm, maybe 20mm when you added the height of the wings. Don't quote me on that though.

If I go by the local hobby store where they had them, I will double check.

H0 ist 1:87<-EDIT thanks DeafNala
35mm is ~1:50
25 mm is ~1:65

Now do the math and arrive somewhere at 19mm. (dynamic poses will be smaller)

My preferred source for fairies was Demonworld elves with glued on wings made from acetylene sheets.

Actually H.O. scale is 1:87 & 25/28mm is 1:56...reversing numbers is one of my favorite errata items also...nice to know I'm not alone.

I have some Dungeon Dwellers pixies but I'll be passing them along to another collector as they are WAY too big for 25mm scale at 14.5mm to the eye.

Fairies must be big in your world Fram if HO scale will do!

I might offer an alternative weighing in at 6mm:

That doesn't help; re, I have a compulsion to paint everything or it doesn't count as my own...it's probably a form of mental illness.

I know that HO scale figures are around 20mm tall. The question is how big are these fairies? If a man is 20mm big then a fairy fig should be around 6mm tall.

Oh, mixed H0 up, I'm not sure about 25mm though. I've seen 1:55 as often as 1:65.

While not perfect I found this helped when at times:
