minis for St John Knights in "civilian" dress and cossak mounted dismounted?

I'm planning a cognoscenti band and want a civilian looking one

i have found minis for the Swiss guard ( tsuba miniatures freikorps are perfect for german speaking swiss ) .

i can't found minis for St John Knigths .
i want them in civil clothes, with a great coat  .

i'm also looking for cossacks mounted and dsimounted .

any idea ?

Westwind Productions in their 'Classic Vampire wars' have dismounted 'Draculas Evil Cossack Guards'  (Vampire Wars proper) and as potential officers 'Tszars Bodyguards' (Romanov Holiday).

Privateer Press has very 'VSF looking Russians' among their Warmachine Khador miniatures.  Similarly GW has (had?) a 'steampunk Russian' (Vostroyans or something) in the IG for 40K. Both probably oversized with regard to most other ranges?

Copplestone Castings 'Back of Beyond' contains more (but perhaps not too much) modern looking Russians such as the Siberian Rifles and various 'White Russian Cossacks',  but only as cavalry.


Knightly Orders in the Holy Land fielded locally recruited Turcopoles: I'm thinking of OTW ‘England Invaded’ Turk soldiers, since you mentioned your St John Knights had acquired 'advanced' Ottoman technologies

Since you are going to have to convert whatever figures you go for, in order to combine 19th Century clothing with hand crossbows and swords, these would probably be the best starting point for Knights of St John:

Their guns should convert nicely to magazine-fed hand crossbows. Add swords to some of the figures and maybe some head changes and you will have a nice set of knights.

By the Middle Ages, a marked difference had developed between the rural cantons of the German-speaking part of Switzerland and the city cantons, divided by views about trade and commerce. After the Reformation, all cantons were either Catholic or Protestant, and the denominational influences on culture added to the differences.
