Bilbo's Trolls
« on: July 29, 2014, 02:58:55 AM »

More on blog as usual...
http://scottswargaming.blogspot.co.nz/2014/07/bilbos-trolls.html

Originally made by Thomarillion, now sadly discontinued, I managed to source this 2nd-hand set.

White Plaster/Resin (?) sculpts I painted and mounted on a MDF base, and added scenic materials...

That looks fantastic -  :-*

It is a pity that you cannot buy the Thomarillion LOTR stuff.
They had some great niche items but I think that they got stopped by GW lawyers.

Now that's purdy.  :-* Fantastic moss and leaf litter effects! Looks like I could step into an Alan Lee painting... if they were big enough.

Looks great! Love that moss! The stone texture is good too.

I did ponder briefly getting some rubber latex stuff and making molds... but its expensive, stuff to get and get shipped, and I hadnt used it before... and if I did sell them I'd probably get bounced by GW's lovely lawyers!

Not saying you should mold them but you can get mold making silicone here at the fibreglass shop http://fibreglassshop.co.nz/products/view/5/47/mould-making-silicone Shipping within NZ is still pretty pricey though and the silicone costs $60 for a kilo.
