Wolf Girl, I make my maps in Pages - the Mac alternative to MS Word. I simply use the insert shapes function and then drag the corners to the size I want. Pages easily allows me to control the color, shape, you name it! Then, when finished, I export the page as a PDF file. This allows me to open it in Photoshop and resize & resave it as a jpg. I know it sounds like a lot, but it is very easy.

You should see the one I've started for scenario 3. Should be a hoot as the players enter the jungle, scale cliffs, and battle cannibal pygmies to save Brother Virigi from the cookpot!
