I like the tantalizingly familiar minis among the free-Tibet gang.  It looks like a bunch of Copplestone minis got together and exhanged jackets and hats.

I can't help thinking that the camel rider is going to be uncomfortable sitting in that position. And I think the camel knows it from the cheeky look in his eye!

Very nice group, Prof, tie or not. Might be historically not sooo common, but who knows; perhaps there was just one revolutionary who felt more civilized wearing a tie when crossing the Taklimatan  lol
