Rogue Trader Battle Report
« on: December 04, 2013, 01:59:37 PM »
Inquisitor Barry looked over the smoking battlefield
'Alright men, we need to recover an ancient artefact from one of those 3 buildings, stay sharp, the war has moved on but there may still be enemy in those trenches'

TURN 1: The imperial forces push forward, 20 imperial guard, 6 mercenaries (2 in power armour) and the inquisitor. The 4 normal mercenaries are my sons characters who have been through several games already in the employment of the inquisitor.

TURN2: Cultists open fire, downing 2 imperial guard

TURN3: Heavy Imperial fire cuts down 7 out of 10 cultists

On the left Flank, A mecrcs Plasma cannon on sustained fire downs 4 cultists

TURN4: A third squad of Cultists breaks cover and assaults the imperial forces

Only to get their arses kicked
On the left, the imperial and cultists exchange fire

TURN5: The imperials almost finish off the cultists on both asides of the field
However, reinforcements burst out of the buildings Chaos renegades and Beastmen!!

TURN6: Hand to Hand against the beastmen in which the lead mercenary is seriously injured

The Inquisitor and his men exchange fire with the Chaos Renegades

Whilst this happens a sneaky possessed renegade enters the government building and opens the book of lorgar
TURN 8: DAEMON!!

Get to da Choppa!!

We had great fun and the fact that there are so few pictures at the end is because we were so engrossed.
The man of the match was the plasma cannon armed merc, he must of killed 12 of the enemy. Donkey of the match went to the leader of the mercs on the right flank, didn't shoot/hit anything and got beaten nearly to death by 2 beastmen
We used RT with a few modifications.
A rigged win for chaos, I want the daemon prince to be in the next game. The imperial forces did well although only 2 Imp guard survived.

Good stuff!

I can see some Black Hat miniatures there, but I can't identify the guardmen. What manufacturer are they?

Fun looking game, and not a single goat or sheep to be seen.

Your table looks great.

Who makes the mercs Steders? Both the powered armoured ones and the others...

Any chance of some close ups of those figs?

That is one great report. I take it, that this is part of an inquisitor campaign?

Thanks All
Guardsmen are EM4 as someone said, really expensive (£2.50 I think for 5)
Mercs are Cobalt lads, again as someone said. They have a real Laserburn feel to them (I'll take some close ups)
Its an on going campaign in which I've forced my son to play Rogue Trader! We play modern 40K as well but he prefers RT for these smaller games (Follow on fire is the best in his eyes)
The hero's are the 4 non-power armoured mercs, we rolled
I'm surprised no one said they liked how well I painted the knocked out Leman Russes, it takes ages to undercoat them in black like that! :)
Next game will have Genestealers in it, he loves the Hybrids

Neat report. I'd also like to see some pics of the EM4 and Cobalt troopers.

Great stuff Steders...I've really got the itch to play some RT myself right now....though I have NO painted figures for such a game... :'(

this is great inspiration...I hope to see more in the future.

Cheers,
